He gave up 2 runs which is the same amount of runs that Henderson and Miz gave up

2 ER in 3 IP is worse than 2 ER in 4 IP and 1 ER in 5 IP.

Henderson was legitimately good. Miz wasn't, but still better than May. Plus they don't have a history of being bad.

difference in this game is handing Dustin May the ball when you know he’s been garbage all season.

May sucks but the difference in the game is the 12 or whatever we stranded, and the unearned run. 3 ER was winnable, even 4 was, if one of our hitters actually came through.

I also don't know who else you're throwing out there? Gasser, Drohan? Harrison? BP game?

He had good stuff, we didn't make plays, they made great plays.

Horrible horrible horrible first pitch to swing at.  You have to lift that and Yelich just can’t lift balls away from him.

I would have to agree with this. You just watched two guys walk. Swinging at a pitch away from him just isn’t his forte anymore.

But thus, first pitch fastball is probably what he was sitting on after those walks.

I can’t even count how many things are wrong with this statement.

Going 5 innings and giving up a 2 runs isn’t the same as going 3 runs and giving up 2 runs,

Giving up 2 earned runs isn’t the same as giving up 1 unearned run on your defense and 1 earned run.

I could go on but you are just going to shamelessly make excuses for May no matter what I say….

5 out of the last 6 games between these teams have been decided by 1 run

Padres are 4-2

Guy is batting .400 for the series and hit it 107.1 mph.

My beef is King was wild.  Why swing at the very first pitch?

You find a way to play Vaughn every day, you do not sit a guy with his batting average. He's a better hitter than everyone on the team aside from maybe Churio. He does not have the pop because of injury but he hits for average. Play him at third. He's worth the at bats as opposed to the defense. I don't get it. He also did not wilt under pressure last year in the playoffs.

1 for 16 with 9ks from Chourio, Bauers, Turang and Mitchell

Yeah and the one hit was a broken bat pop up. Will give credit to Brice for drawing that walk in the 9th though. Good AB.

Two freaking ABs for Vaughn in 3 games while Mitchell has, I don't know, a dozen I’m guessing,

They opened the door for the Padres to get back in this. ANOTHER road playoff loss.

Gasser was the clear choice. He had an excellent end to the season.

I think you have to start him over Bauers tomorrow.

I'd rather he put a good swing on a Fastball than be down 0-1 there.

Yeah, I did too. Frustrating game but the loss is kind of a 'shrug your shoulders' situation.

Pretty sure it’s because he is awful at third and mediocre at first.

He did not hurt us at third. He was okay at first.

If this was the Dodgers, fine, but vs this type of RHed heavy lineup? I'm not sure.

I get that, but he got a pitch he liked and hammered it. He's seeing the ball well, hitting it hard. Swing away. Couple feet either direction it's 4-4 and runners on the corners with 1 out.
