I mean, Rasmussen is crazy good and he had a fantastic postseason before yesterday. I wasn't thrilled that we had to face him, but I kept reminding myself that that's what I thought about every Dodgers starting pitcher.

Yeah you could make an argument he was the best pitcher in baseball to close out the season. But this Brewer team is different, man.

Dodgers subreddit is hysterical. It's all about how this World Series just isn't interesting and it's just two mediocre teams playing really bad baseball full of mistakes.

Ok guys 😂

Objectively it’s been intense close baseball. The long battles seemingly every single at bat is unbelievable.

Now its all about super Freddy for them.  They don't understand that the name on the back means nothing to these guys.  They aren't intimidated.

I didn't peruse the whole page but this entire thread is 75%ish or more of Dodgers' fans saying they are cheering for us. The OP throws shade and the vast majority of comments are disagreeing with him/her. Not saying your take is wrong ... but this was the first thing I clicked on and it is pretty pro Milwaukee.

Read yesterday's daily discussion thread. It's pathetic.

What did y'all think of Joe Davis saying at the end of the game that there needs to be a challenge system with checking swings?

Sure why not.  It would have definatley cofirmed that Wandy swung so we can avoid the internet garbabe pile.

Honestly this just shows you how important it is to get hot at the right time

How many people in July-August thought this team had the offense to do what they are doing right now?

We always knew they had the starting pitching and backend of the pen although the starters haven’t done great but done just enough

There already will be an automated check swing system for next year.  It was introduced in the minors.

Did he say anything about a challenge system for checked swings after the Caminero VS Megill AB in game 1?

Didn't think so.🤔.

Pratt's performance last night reminded me of a game in Robin Younts' rookie year. He committed an error that allowed Baltimore to tie the game late, then in his very next AB homered to put Milwaukee back on top in a game they eventually won. The '74 Brewers didn't use words like 'undaunted', but for an 18-yr-old kid that's about as undaunted as you can get. And Pratt had a couple of monster ABs yesterday on the biggest stage, after he rushed & made the bad throw earlier.

Impressive. I might have to start drinking Fanta Orange.

Yeah, and he added something like "to make sure they get these right" or something on those lines.  He basically said the Umps got it wrong, and they need to fix the system.

SCREW YOU JOE DAVIS!  Big giant cry baby spoiled rotten bastard!

Similar to Miz, one wonders about cumulative innings count. They didn’t give him an extra day of rest for kicks and giggles.

As it turns out, a little added bonus from Rasmussen not throwing game 1. We won't see him at any time in St Pete this week, save for a possible inning on what would be his 'throw day'.

Does anyone really believe that Ashby is unavailable on Monday?

It’s Game 3 of the World Series. He is 100% available if they need him.

Although, I’m sure they’d love to give him two off in a row.

I think that's accurate. If there's a cushion, you might lean towards Romero and/or Hall for the LH 'pocket' in the TB order. But there are no more upcoming series, 11 games in 10 day stretches, etc.

Let it fly.

I don't even think its the offense as much as it has been a remarkable run in the bullpen.  You can chip away at leads with a run here and a run there if the other team isn't scoring.  For example, if the pen gave up 2 runs in 6 yesterday, a very good 3.00 era, they lose.  And that's not me complaining about the offense at all, but the pen allowing 1 run in 10 innings takes some pressure off.  You dont need to score in chunks.

To be honest.  The Brewers probably know Freddie inside out.  I doubt there will be any mysteries here.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

I'm trying to figure out who has the advantage, Peralta or the Brewers hitters. Peralta knows our team's strengths and weaknesses, and we know his. I have a feeling Contreras will be providing quite the scouting report. We know that he can get his pitch count high very fast, and that's going to be key.

I think of it more as the Brewers offensive approach has the bigger advantage against a guy like Peralta.  Freddy may come out and dominate us but we've driven up pitch counts against pitchers much better at keeping pitch counts low.  We aren't going to be the indians swinging at everything.  The narrative is that Freddy has been on a bender, and he has, but the underlying numbers suggest a luck.
