Zambrano for CY Young

Whatever happened to Big Z's bid for the Cy Young. I would have thought with the Cubs 2nd half resurgence he would be looking like a good candidate, but I guess not.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

His behavior just makes him so easy to root against. Regardless of whether he's a showy arrogant jerk or not, we can only hope he continues this current slide, because when he's on he's fantastic.

I am not sure I could cheer for somebody who not only talks about themselves in the third person, but also gives themselves a nickname while doing so.

EDIT: Besides, the most enjoyable part about watching him pitch is his loses where he just flips out.

Zambrano is an awesome pitcher that I would love to have. I guess I don't buy into any sort of trash talk about him, as he's a great pitcher

I want to see him get one right in the ribcage, but I want it to be from our staff....guess there's always next year!

I hate Zambrano more than I hate Bonds. I usually don't mind his fist pumping garbage, but when he went wild on the mound after striking out Braun(?) in the first inning I almost puked.

Maybe he will pinch hit on Thursday.

me too, Bob. That's when the ol' ribcage-plunk notion jumped into my head. You never know - maybe he'll pinch-hit in front of Fontenot tomorrow, and there'll be a real chance. I can dream anyway. He's a spoiled 14-y-o in a grown man's body

EDIT: great minds think alike, logan. And so do ours.

It was Fielder, but the best part about that was when Fielder crushed that double to left center next at-bat. He absolutely smoked it, and it was wheels off from there for Zambrano.

Zambrano has never had more than two dominant months in a row in his career and he has at least 1-2 really bad months every year, thats just how he is.

Given the state of the Brewers' rotation, I probably wouldn't mock a guy with 14 wins, an ERA under 4.00, and 173 IP.

Actually after last nights outing Zambrano's ERA is now 4.06.http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif

You could've fooled me with this quote.http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif

Zambrano's last 4 starts: 0-4, 8.25 ERA.

When did he sign that contract extension?http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif

I wouldn't mind him on the Brewers team but I wouldn't want to have to rely on him as the team leader or staff ace. He's simply to volitile a player. He lets his emotions get to him too much for my comfort. His unpredicatbility is something that just isn't worth the money he makes IMO. Especially considering he tends to let negative things effect him. Something that is just the opposite of what you need out of a top of the rotation, stopper type of guy. Give me Sheets any day. Even with his nack for unusual injuries.
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Tip of the hat to ESPN.com for this tidbit about Zambrano:

Carlos Zambrano is not looking like the Cubs' No. 1 starter. After getting outdueled by Ben Sheets and losing to the Brewers, Zambrano (14-11) now has failed six times to get his 15th victory -- he has four losses, a no-decision when he had to leave a game with heat cramping and another start that was rained out after three innings. He is winless since signing a five-year, $91.5 million contract Aug. 17 and hasn't won since July 29.

As a Brewers fan, watching our team cuff around "Big Z" is nearly as fun as watching two wins against anyone else.

Carlos Zambrano is the second coming of Jose Lima.

I'd take Sheets over Zambrano, but maybe we can forcibly transplant Zambrano's pitching hand, lower back and inner ear to Ben.

Seriously, if I was a pitcher and saw Zambrano adjusting in the box on a 2-0 pitch, I would stone his ass. "Not hopping around NOW, is he Jimbo?"

And I hate how he's always pointing to the heavens. (When Coco does it, he's just being pious.)

Zambrano is probably my least favorite player on the Cubs. Jeez, just for once can he act like he's been there before? It's the worst to watch him do the fist pump and yelling in the first inning after a strikeout like yesterday. Needless to say, I'm glad that Prince glared at him after that and then ripped a double next at bat.
