  1. Agree with KeithStone, the competition will just be too much at this point. Earned himself a nice contract next season.
  2. So every team should have a HOF DH?
  3. Both Winker and Tapia have been pretty abysmal. If Frelick hadn't performed so poorly since his return from injury would think he would get the callup over Tapia but hasn't been able to get going. Taylor pretty much guaranteed a spot after the break. Not totally opposed to replacing one of those with Alex Jackson so Contreras/Caratini can both catch/DH more often without fear of having no catcher. Maybe if they are lucky they can find next year's backup as well.
  4. I don't get it, why is he even here then? Certainly not a defensive replacement.
  5. Woodruff will obviously be back so they have the SP covered. I take my chances with Burnes/Woodruff/Peralta/Miley in the playoffs. They do need another hitter or two, one way or the other.
  6. Ruiz was traded for a couple of All Stars in a span of a few months, plenty of people felt he had high value, just not the internet.
  7. If Winker doesn't get hot the remaining of this Reds series and his first return back to Great American Ballpark after the break, he never will.
  8. At the very least it is interesting to have a guy throwing 100+. After one outing he will likely be the hardest throwing Brewers ever.
  9. Hopefully a repeat of last night with Weaver pitching, score a bunch early and maybe the B Team can hold a lead. However, a blowup by Rea is certainly possible even though he has been excellent of late. Teheran will be available on full rest as well with the All Star Break coming up..
  10. Too bad for Carroll as he is a heck of a player and from Seattle so must be disappointing for him. Yelich is certainly in the running but would think teammate Ketel Marte gets a serious look as well as Tatis.
  11. With Taylor having six games under his belt at AAA might be time for him to come back for this series. Since Abbott is pitching I think Wiemer stays with his success against lefties, maybe Perkins goes back down. Have to think Mejia gets DFA as well but probably a series too early for Wilson to make his debut. Not today but have to think Houser will be used in the bullpen Saturday/Sunday which should help.
  12. Miller's horrible June has carried over into July and he may be running out of time. Better produce today.
  13. He's getting some hits but hasn't really got his power stroke going since coming back.
  14. Winker has traditionally destroyed the Pirates as well so hoping that ignites him a bit.
  15. I know it was mentioned in last night game thread but weather looks very hit and miss Saturday and Sunday. Not enough rain to cancel the game entirely but enough to potentially cause delays and screw up this Brewers bullpen further. Trying to stay positive for the weekend but bad things seem to happen when they go to Pittsburgh.
  16. With all of those guys mentioned I think Brosseau is looking at a DFA due to others being called up and added to 40 man or injured guys coming back.
  17. With him making $5 million I would have no issue with a DFA as likely nobody claims him and they outright him to AAA to work on things. HIura can take his place until he figures it out or the Brewers acquire somebody better.
  18. I think Alexander is DFA as soon as he is ready to go. They have a better version of Alexander in Rea. However, do think they have too many fringe relief pitchers on the 40 man that have not been real good.
  19. Fortunately they only lose a 1/2 game with a loss but would be nice to be tied for first and win a 4 game series heading into the weekend.
  20. At this point would turnover much of the bats or sell. Would look elsewhere at 1B/DH/3B/RF even though that is asking a lot. Play the hotter of Urias/Miller at 2B and perhaps even start working Turang back in, call up Frelick/Hiura. Like the idea of a player like Turner even if it is not him, don't have faith in Anderson anymore, would dump him and trade for Candelerio, an upcoming free agent.
  21. Thanks for mentioning the article, it did ask for an e-mail but no payment. Teheran was a different pitcher back then but he has had a lot of success against the Mets.
  22. Yelich has had a really nice May and June after a slow start. He has the name as well so actually going both him and Williams. The percentages in this poll are not representative of the actual voting as well because if 7/10 voters believe Williams makes it then more like 70% vs. the 46% in the poll.
  23. Yep, one of the reasons I think they have to keep Perkins/Monasterio on this team until they get upgrades. It is basically Wiemer/Contreras/Perkins/Monasterio and Miller that can hit LHP.
  24. Definitely have noticed this during the week. However, I have not bought direct from the Brewers during the week all season as I always find better seats for better prices elsewhere. Not necessarily keeping me out of the park, attendance will probably be about the same when all is said and done compared to last year.
  25. No that isn't the posters point at all, was saying how it is and not what it should be. However, for the most part it has not been a rotational spot. Even in Arnold's short time has acquired Winker and Voit, not much defense there.
