    Trea Turner went out with a hamstring yesterday. As of now it doesn't seem major, but it would be nice if it was just enough to keep him out of the playoffs unless its the WS. No Wheeler/Turner would be a break

    I don't think anyone or even them would say its a big deal. But its an arm/depth at a time they kind of need it. you can kind of blow through payamps as needed while up right now then dfa when you need to and lose him then. Kind of like running a car into the ground before getting rid of it. In addition, it gives a guy who has been a good guy for a couple years a chance to show something to other teams. I would guess that if they weren't up by 7.5 games the decision would be different. But he's one of the kind of garbage time guys now and after a day where he's used a lot or after like 2-3 straight days of use he'll probably be gone. I think someone just said patrick has a locker, so he might be the guy gone when that's needed. So sending yoho down first allows him back sooner later on

    oh Adolis Garcia is out now too. Didn't know Joc had been ok in the last few weeks, I saw the next post not knowing here was there. FYI, he signed there this year for like 2/40 and has been atrocious, like dfa level bad. Althogh apparently has done ok the last few weeks according to sveum. There was some talk on mlb a few weeks ago about how loyal the manager has been because he keeps trotting him out there in the 3 hole every day with a .170 type avg and 600ish ops

    Didn't know until today after seeing some mlb network discussion that this good streak by TX to get close is being done with Seager and Semien on the DL. Evaldi is down too. On paper this is not a very good looking team right now. But they're playing well at the moment.

    Yes, quite the domino effect on if Civale just stays the course. Vaughn might still be tinkering on the Sox. We don't get that hot streak that helped vault MKE to the big lead. Who knows where things are at right now. Also, I personally am shocked that all the 'they're going to collapse and they suck' folks were wrong again. I look forward to seeing them all again after they lose in October so they can claim to have been right all along.

    Ha, right. On paper, I'd probably say Sea has the best team in the AL. So tough to put it on management too much. But more or less, they're in the same spot they were before the moves and with the same % at a WS. While I'd think putting a dent in their farm for two guys who'll be gone at end of year

    Wow. That's absurd. Funny thing is for fantasy baseball, seemingly every time I have a starter leave a game with the lead the last month or so his pen blows the game. I have Yamamoto. I actually hadn't even checked it since he gave up the HR, figured it would be no problem over. then I saw this, crazy loss for them and the streak continues for me

    Too funny that Bauers came through again today. Good for him couldn't watch today so not privy too much. but saw no Yeli again. Wonder if him to DL is gonna be the way to get Hoskins back as his deadline comes up. lead back to 6.5 you can probably play it super safe

    it popped in my head after the L yesterday that if they sweep Pit this weekend its as good as over. You'd be at 89 wins with like 21 games left or something like that.

    yea i get that. But, Reynolds robbed two great hits in RF to save them 3 runs. I don't know if they called Vaughn's hit up the middle there an E or not, but imo it was a hit. Bad to even throw the ball though to give us a run

    I haven't watched a play of either nfl game yet, probably won't until the packers games trying to take it easy this weekend so being online keeping me from getting bored and going out

    One AB for the game on line or a less than 2 outs guy on third, I think I'd go with Bauers

    Also I don't know much about the RAmirez who just pitched. But quick looks it seems he's bounced around, only has a 5.5 era this year. If he's available in the offseason I'd be all over that guy and see what our coaches can do with that stuff

    What he was on the Sox before the last year and a half was competent starter. Then who knows *** happened there for a bit. Then he comes here and goes nuts. Chances are he's in between the *** and Babe ruth. Which would be somewhere in the ballpark of competency that he was before the crash. I'd say that's what most people hope or think could happen. Being an All Star 300, 1000ops 35/hr, 100 rbi I don't think is in anyone's realistic expectation. and even that just OKness he was on CWS before he crashed is more than Bauers has ever shown. And note I'm not a Bauers basher, I've been a general defender at times on here

    I don't think anyone here worships Vaughn or doesn't realize a snap back to reality was gonna come. Some jokers were fun at the time though I'm sure Also, even if Bauers had any kind of stretch or past akin to just what Vaughn had on CWS when he was young the point might be valid. He had back to back seasons with 750ish OPS and around 20 hr 75rbis for two seasons not that long ago

    That could be a merger of topics. This goes on another day or two for Yeli and you might as well DL him. That lines right up pretty well with Hoskins approaching deadline

    Yea I have no real beef with Bauers the way many here do. But managements seeming dedication to him seems kind of odd. If you lose him when you DFA so be it. Sure he's probably better than Black (his closest positional comp being lefty and 1b/of) but its probably marginal at best and losing that depth this late in the year doesn't seem it should be a concern.

    Yea this is weird and I haven't seen anyone talking about it? He seems a well liked guy and was generally fine this year before getting hurt. My guess is some kind of roster manipulation thing? Perhaps the longer they hold Bauer the higher chances of keeping him in system when DFAd? Or generally waiting and see if anyone gets hurt before his due date so they can 'dl' that person to keep them. Or maybe if they were planning on Hoskins back in the last few days it got pushed back due to Yelich's issues since Bauers can play OF in a pinch. Just looked and it seems 9/9 is the date they have to activate him by.

    I just looked and Apple doesn't release numbers but its estimated they have over 40 mil subscribers. It was estimated around 25 in 2022. So yea they're doing very well and they do really well at awards time too. that said, I can't imagine MLB drove out new subscribers all that much so I'd generally agree. Granted, I did it last game. Its $10, and you get a whole month so the game plus a month of binging their shows for $10 isn't bad at all. Especially when a burger at mcdonalds is like $13 now. But the nfl on the other hand when Amazon did it for the first time a few years ago it worked just how they wanted, a record spike in subscriptions because of it. usa is just nuts about the nfl, as someone who's blah on nfl it still blows my mind.

    To me the more killer loss or thing that show the bigger issue right now was Monday blowing that big lead. Sure, Phil has great hitters but the biggest thing that has made MKE good for years now is pitching/bullpen. That's their backbone. Monday (along with a few others recently) have shown that strength is faltering right now. Of course partly due to injuries and fatigue caused by the 18 in 17 stretch. And now it seems Mears will be out too. One of our most reliable things all of a sudden is thin. Need Megill to come back strong to sure it up a bit. To me that's the bigger concern that the not scoring much on a rest day vs a good pitcher, while still having tons of scoring opps they effed up. That happens some days and they've generally been one of the best in the league on that so don't have much concern on it now.

    but they do play 6 in a row more after this. And in this thread there is one contingency bashing the manager for not resting guys enough, and also for resting too much. You have a 6 game lead and don't have to be desperate. You are looking to give guys days off and the best days to do it for LHH are when the other team has a lefty on the mound. Still, I probably hedge it a bit too and with how hot Turang has been I'd have let him roll, save him for an off day next time. I don't know what Perkins was doing today, looks totally out of it
