  1. I imagine they go hand in hand with the stats you laid out, but it seems to me that while it's a lousy-looking ERA, the Brewer pitchers who go 5 innings and give up 3-4 runs at least keep the games in reach. Is there a standard for "blow up" starts, where a starter gives up 5, 6, 7 runs and essentially loses the game? Think Birdsong giving up 5 in 3.2 yesterday. The game wasn't over, but with the Brewers bullpen, it kind of was! I think the Brewers have had very few of those. Drop everything, sveumrules!
  2. I was at the game on Tuesday. After Churio's bomb, I said to no one in particular, "Anything that travels that far ought to have a damn stewardess on it." And I immediately became the funniest guy at AmFam.
  3. Tough play for the Royals. Lose Erceg to a comebacker and their first baseman on the same play.
  4. Great pull. Easily one of the top 5 players to ever wear #19 for the Brewers.
  5. He was on the radio with the Milwaukee guys and said he gets a few series off each season and this was it.
  6. Then your grandfather loved Ted Klusewski.
  7. Pretty sure Greg Brock spontaneously combusted during a game. It happens to dozens of people a year.
  8. @HarryDoyleFirst and third, runner on first broke for second and stopped. Got in a rundown, Contreras broke for home, Chapman dropped the throw, easy peasy.
  9. Once you accept the fact that playing first base for Milwaukee is like being the drummer for Spinal Tap, you understand things a lot better. https://zeroenthusiasm.tumblr.com/post/47032679583/list-of-spinal-tap-drummers-all-deceased
  10. Hey opponents, quit hitting it at Perkins. You will lose that battle.
  11. With the huge foul territory in Oakland, and the last couple of home games, it seems as if Ortiz has had to run a long way for some foul popups lately.
  12. Plenty of others who had the Brewers not doing so well this year. Fully half of the people posting in the win total prediction thread had them at 81 or fewer. That includes Vegas. Only one person had them at 90 (This guy!!!). Well, except for Homer, who predicted a win total of 162. And torts sat out the prediction thread for some reason, so the most optimistic fan out of all of us didn't document his optimism in this case.
  13. Papa Joe’s is still around? Much time spent there when I went to UWSP. Bar of the game.
  14. I don't think he was asking, he was challenging my assertion that the Brewers need to scratch and claw to score.
  15. Yup. Last night notwithstanding. The Giants had three men LOB all night, the Brewers 11. The Giants were tremendously more efficient. Brewers first inning: Reached on error, stolen base, 15-pitch walk, fielder's choice, fielder's choice. Stretched Webb out for 30 pitches. 0 runs. Brewers saw 52 more pitches, and to what end?
  16. And, if you need a toilet, Wrigley field is right there.
