Full-season 25 games over .500 - YES
A and A+ both 15 games over .500 and in 1st - OH HECK YES
AAA 5 games over and 9.5 G back - YES......ughhh
Mental math realizing this means AA is 10 games under .500 - oh no
I think if you added 10ft to every batted ball he's had this year that he'd have double digit HR on the year instead of the 4 he currently has. Lots of warning track/off the wall hits from him this season.
So tired of watching him swing out of his shoes at the plate. Praying that he comes to the same realization that Turang did last offseason that he's a contact oriented hitter. This 20% K-rate, .076 ISO guy who is swinging out of his shoes all the time is not how he's going to stick in an MLB lineup.
Part of the reason Wilson's performed well ERA wise as a SP is because he's been insanely protected with openers and taking him out 3rd time through most times. If we weren't losing 2-0 against Skubal, Wilson would have been pulled today before facing Greene a 3rd time and we likely get out of the inning only giving up at most a run. You ask him to face 3rd time through like today and it's going to be ugly like today.
Wilson just isn't a SP. You can't be as bad as he is against LHH and be in an MLB rotation. OPS was .958 against LHH coming into today. Need to get him back into the bullpen where he can be more protected against LHH.
I don't remember where I heard it said. Might have been the pitching coach or Sweet, but they said Rodriguez early season issues were because he was moving his head to much during his delivery causing some serious control issues.
It's an interesting idea that I actually thought about a bit earlier this season. I'm not sure the Brewers would do it, but I could see Freddy somewhat interested in locking down some more guaranteed money.
Bryan Hudson turning into one of the best firemen in the MLB.
Jared Koenig, the 30 year old rookie, coming out of nowhere to be a flexible middle reliever.
Brice Turang making the quantum leap that Murphy predicted.
Those have to be my three favorites.
Going into game 3 facing arguably the best pitcher in the MLB this year with the series already won is huge. What a big win today. Let's take it to Skubal tomorrow and finish the road trip 3-3.
Maybe this is a hot take, but I think that last play is a double play if Ortiz is playing SS. His exchange from glove to throw is just so much quicker than Adames. Adames took a while getting that ball from his glove to Turang. Ortiz doesn't have the big arm that Adames has but he's just so quick with his hands and transfer.
I wonder if Freddy is tipping again. He had some really bad misses today, but he also had some close balls taken that were almost shocking to see taken. The chase rate against him today is shockingly low for Freddy standards.
Can't imagine Myers goes down because we wouldn't have a 5th SP if he gets optioned. I'd bet Hernandez gets DFA'd to open a 40-man spot for Rodriguez on Tuesday.
