  1. It will be Peralta or a trade acquisition. Rea would be fortunate to pitch in a playoff game. Talk of him being our #1 SP is out of control.
  2. Saying he was a starter in college is a bit generous. He maxed out at 65 IP in a college season. That’s not a starter workload. He's already thrown 10 more innings this year than he has in a single season in his career and he’s 13 innings away this year from matching his total IP from 2020-2023.
  3. When is the last time the Brewers called up a prospect from DSL to ACL midseason? I don't really remember it happening the last few years.
  4. Seeing how well the Smokies have hit every non-Shane Smith pitcher in this series makes Smith's outing yesterday all the more impressive.
  5. Rivero, Yerlin, and Misiorowski on the mound at the same time leaves a high chance of seeing a walk or HBP
  6. Carolina might regret bringing in Jesus Rivero with just a 7 run lead the way he's been pitching.
  7. Misiorowski imploded. 3 HR today, 3 HBP, 2 BB, only 1 SO. His worst start of the year.
  8. Ernesto Martinez Jr with a 112 EV HR. When he hits them, he really hits them.
  9. Misiorowski with one of his worst innings of the season in the 1st. Basically all the contact against was hard and he had 2 HBP and 1 BB.
  10. To be fair to Milner that should have been an out. Bauers just let the ball roll by him on what should have been a relatively routine 3-1 putout.
  11. Francisco Guevara having a rough start to his professional career. He's made 2 appearances and gotten 0 outs. He has given up 2 hits, 8 ER, 6 BB, 2 HBP in those 2 appearances. It can only go up from here right?
  12. I think comparing someone to Paredes is the equivalent to comparing someone to Judge. It's just futile. Paredes ability to pull the ball at ideal launch angles is just as much of an outlier as Judge's 80 grade power. Tyler Black really isn't comparable to him at all.
  13. Manuel Rodriguez has to be the most impressive pitcher in the system this year and that's saying a lot because there have been a lot of impressive pitchers. He's the 3rd youngest pitcher in Low A this season (minimum 20 IP) yet after tonight he will be top 15 in IP among all A ball pitchers. He's at 53.2 IP and no other 18 year old in Low A has 40 IP. His 2.8% BB-rate after tonight is 6th lowest in A ball. He deserves a lot more love than he's been getting.
  14. Ortiz scratched due to hamstring soreness. I believe it was noticed here last night that he was grabbing at the hammy after his SB. Hopefully it's just day to day and won't need an IL stint.
  15. You can learn more about Rodriguez in this article.
  16. Mogollon's first 2 appearances this year in Carolina - 7,1 IP, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 HBP Mogollon since in A and ACL - 14.2 IP, 22 ER, 29 BB, 8 HBP
  17. This isn't just dating back 7 games. Contreras has an OPS under .600 since the start of the Astros series in mid-May over a now 98 PA sample size. Yelich has an ISO of about .110 in his last 125 PA.
  18. Brewers hitters are just really struggling right now. Ebbs and flows of a season and a bunch of guys are ebbing right now. Contreras in particular is just not doing damage on pitches he was crushing at the start of the year. Yeli's timing has been off a lot. Ortiz is pressing a bit and chasing pitches he doesn't need to chase. Hoskins was all out of funk tonight.
  19. Osbriel Mogollon has unfortunately been really bad since being demoted to the ACL and that continues tonight.
  20. Pitches that Brewers hitters were doing damage on earlier this year are being fouled off or smashed into the ground lately. Not doing enough damage. So many guys are battling at the plate right now.
