  1. Woodruff is massively undervalued on BTV. To have less than half of Burnes value is silly, so any trade involved Woodruff using that site isn’t gonna work for me.
  2. The extra ~10M from the Brewers new local tv deal started last year, and so did the extra ~$8M per team increase in national tv money.
  3. Optionable depth is always a good thing. If they actually need his roster spot some day they can just DFA him.
  4. They like their position prospects and after watching them and following them, I certainly can see why. To add an impactful controlled bat takes 3 top prospects +, and thankfully the team didn’t go that route. It’s taken the team 7 years to build-up the farm system positionally and they aren’t going to trade-off what they have for 1 impact bat that improves their WS odds by 1.5%..
  5. Lining-up the talent to match Burnes/Woodruff was never going to happen. It takes time to draft and develop. They had Zero positional prospect talent post-Yelich trade. And once Yelich regressed and Cain dove off a cliff they couldn’t do much to help match their pitching.
  6. It’s not being cheap - it’s just smart.
  7. Agree with most of your placements. Uribe to AAA for me. His stuff is so nasty as long as he’s still strike-throwing, I’m bringing him to MKE the day we gain the extra year, and the same with Middendorf.
  8. Except with this team. We don’t need anyone coming in taking playing time away from our big-league ready OF’s. Time to allow for the development to begin of some of our Nashville OF’s. Talent & pre-arby salaries this team needs in spades asap.
  9. Depends on what the team does with Wong, Renfroe & Burnes. The payroll is already at $123M, so adding ~$20M with no trades of the aforementioned isn’t going to work. The team would probably need to trade at least 2 of them if not all 3 to free up the payroll space to add Abreu, plus a possible catcher, reliever, and starter depth. Maybe some of that can come back to us from the trades, but payroll will need to be shed if we want to add a $20M type player.

  11. Small has a 55 grade FB because of its spin and deception. He also has a plus CH, so 2 out pitches. The improvement of his SL is key to how good a starter he can be. He had 12 whiffs in his start last year vs the Cubbies in less than 3 innings before he lost his release point, so he has swing and miss stuff.
  12. If he gets his release-point fixed and can get back to strike-throwing, Small can be more than a bullpen arm. Prior to his wildness, he had been making progress on his SL, which if he can get that pitch to average, would give him the third pitch he needs to rotation.
  13. Yes, I’ve seen Small pitch and he’s lost his release point. Can he get it back? I think so, and if he does, he can help out of the bullpen until he’s needed in the rotation. If he can’t throw strikes he’ll be out of baseball.
  14. Guerra replaces Gott. Suter can be replaced by a starter arm like Small or Gasser or Houser andBox can be replaced by the HL acquisition they need.
  15. I think the team sees Middendorf & Uribe as 2 new shuttle arms that can join Milner & Strezlecki & Cousins giving the team good middle inning coverage, especially if Gasser & possibly Small pitch out of the pen at some point next season. They still need a veteran HL arm added, preferably LH, that can hopefully form a nice 3- headed monster at the backend among Williams, Bush, & Guerra.
  16. If you are right then hallelujah. This team has missed its Burnes/Woodruff WS contention timeline. We need to time our farms positional strength with a strong, controlled pitching core. This team unfortunately, outside of Gasser, is devoid of possible big-league rotation arms until ‘25/‘26 Prospects aside, what do we really have around the diamond that’s WS caliber? A bunch of average to slightly above average hitters, that are mostly slow and unathletic. Team payroll is already at $123M. How is this team supposed to compliment Burnes/Woodruff without decimating the farm and pretty much guaranteeing a another mis-timed pitching/positional core? With that being said: One of Burnes/Woodruff needs traded, maybe both, because that’s how we can get that starting pitching core in place with our incredible positional prospect core, which won’t happen until 2025, Realistically, a minimum of 2 years of positional prospect development. Trading Burnes gets us at least 1 maybe 2 near big-league ready starter prospects that can touch the rotation, along with Gasser, before the end of ‘23, then with 1-2 years of development, join Peralta & Ashby to give the team 3-4, 5 years controlled starters, with Peralta having 2 years as well. If Woodruff is extended great, then our rotation post-‘24 will be that much stronger. And in 2025-‘26, we have Misiorowski and the young starter arms now in A & A+ that can touch the bullpen and rotation. This future pitching core rostered with a mostly developed OF of Frelick, Mitchell, Wiemer, IF of Turang, Urias, Black, with Chourio, Quero, Brown poised to join and contribute. Not all will develop into above average starters, but enough will that can be complimented with trades and FA signings. Hoping Stearns didn’t want to wait 2 more years for this development to happen.
  17. This particular evaluator gave Quero a 55 power grade, with 60 grade raw power, so he disagrees with you.
  18. Non-zero sure, but so remote it’s not even worth discussing at this time. Things change, but right now both look to be future mainstays for this team.
  19. The Brewers aren’t trading Quero or Misiorowski. After Misiorowski’s strike-throwing, jaw dropping performance at instructs and Quero’s performance in the AFL, they are both about as untouchable as Chourio.
  20. Or go sign Vasquez, who costs zero prospects.
  21. Nice to read an evaluator think he’s the most “slept on prospect in baseball”, and a future “all-star”. The Will Smith comp was cool to see as well.
  22. Robinson got hit pretty hard once promoted to AAA, so they might think teams don’t think he’s ready for the leap to the big-leagues. Can Devanney could easily get taken. 25/26, close to big-league ready, power, good defender. It’s quite the gamble to leave him unprotected, imo.

  24. Based on the teams stated goal of perpetual playoff contention, trading all 3 is not going to happen. That would very likely force a rebuild. Holding all 3 will also force a rebuild, just not until after the ‘25 season. I think it’s more likely they trade 1 (Burnes > trade return), extend 1 (Adames > safest), and ride the other for the draft-pick (Woodruff). This gives the team a good chance to contend thru 2024 and beyond if they nail the Burnes return. The extention and hold should also help mitigate the casual fan’s reaction to Burnes being traded.
  25. Either of Eflin or Stripling would work at $9-$11M/year, along with Jose Quintana at $12M/year. Move Houser to the bullpen if the team holds onto Burnes/Woodruff. If the team trades one of the aforementioned, sign 2 of them. The team has to have veteran SP depth if they want to challenge for a playoff spot, which I believe they can do even if they decide to move 1 of Burnes/Woodruff.
