What's the Going Rate for the Tooth Fairy?

Our daughter just lost her first tooth. It pretty much just fell out of her mouth.

Is $3 a good deal?

What are some things/money amounts the Tooth Fairy left for -you-?

$3 sure beats the 25 cents or so we got as kids.

$1 was always a good haul....but in today's market with gas prices what they are...3 bucks would be good....or how about a Brewer related item like a pin or mini-bobble.

My son knows the truth about Santa and the Easter Bunny but (surprise, surprise) he tried to play dumb with regards to the Tooth Fairy. Needless to say, we're done paying cash for teeth in my house - at least until the little one starts losing teeth. Anyhow the going rate in my house was $5.

My kids get $1. It's plenty for a 5 year old to get excited abut. As long as you don't let her think it might be more and she isn't reading inflation reports, she'll be happy with a dollar.

I haven't lost a tooth in about 18 years, maybe 19...i always got a buck, some are saying 3, i'd go with 2...infact, go with the 2 dollar bill. those make a kid feel like their rich cuz no one uses those, and more neat than a dollar coin, IMO.

When she catches a squirrel you can start rewarding her.

I'm blown away by the amounts some people got. I used to get a $0.50 piece, sorta along the lines of Bikeage's $2-bill suggestion (novelty of it). I like the idea to give it to her in dollar coin(s), fwiw.

You could start offering her $25.00 for each squirrel tooth she brings you.

I appreciate you people tormenting me with squirrel talk.

The Tooth Fairy did stop by here and left $3.00 and a doll.

I think that next time may be a bit less though.

Sheesh! Ummm... I just lost a tooth, but it's an adult tooth - totally worth more on the open market. My opening offer is a Wii.

Maybe your daughter can be persuaded that the first tooth and the last tooth get a little extra, since they're a little extra special.

If not, start saving. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
