The First-Ever BF.net, "Pick the Reliever" Contest - Win Tickets to Brewers-Mets

Posted

OK, the prize is two terrace level seats to the Brewers-Mets game of September 3rd. (This is a Wednesday afternoon game)

The Brewers are targeting pitching help as we head toward the trade deadline, tell me:

Who will the Brewers trade for, and who will they give up.

If your answer is incomplete, it will be disqualified...I need to know who the Brewers will give in the trade, as the tiebreaker.

Please refrain from giving advice, editorializing, etc, in this thread.

THANK YOU to ELCABALLO45 for generously donating the tickets for this contest!

Both of those are too light...Marte is worth two picks after the year, far better than that pair. Gonzalez is worth far more than Nelson.

I'm not sure who to say the Crew will target, but they will need to offer up some legit prospects, unless they add just a serviceable arm who is overpaid or going through a rough stretch.

I think they'll target one of the following...

Eddie Guardado

Damaso Marte

Ron Mahay

Will Ohman

Forced to pick the one they'll get, I'll go with Ron Mahay.

Mahay for Hernan Iribarren + Robert Hinton

Matt Herges for PTBNL which becomes Errecart. Herges' home/road and day/night splits are very equal; oddly more effective against leftys than righties in his three year splits. Herges has put up some good numbers in Coors.

And That - shouldn't your post be in blue (at least the Crabbe part)? I would love Bell, but I think it will take more than those three.

If WAS will take Nelson, Braddock, and Pena for Rausch I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Scott Downs. We'd have him and Riske through 2010.

I'll go out on a limb and say the Brewers get nobody for their bullpen.

The poster previously known as Robin19, now @RFCoder

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

Looks Brian Fuentes is still open. I'm thinking that one would need to include someone from the major league roster (borderline)... think they'd bite on a Mota/Turnbow package? OK, how about Mark DeFelice or Tony Gywnn Jr then?

There is a guy on the Sox name Scott Linebrink, pretty good, got a 2.37 ERA with a 32/6 K/BB ration

I figure we will have to give up Jeffress, Braddock, and Frederickson to get him, but he's a lock to help!
