If they are going to let Greinke pitch deep, why not just start Yo here on normal rest and go with Greinke in Game 1? Why force Greinke to pitch on short rest both tonight and Game 2?

It sounds like it will be a normal start for Greinke just on short rest.
I wouldn't say anything is set in stone yet. If they get out to a big enough early lead, I think he could be pulled after 2-3 innings. But if it's close, I would imagine he goes 5-6.
Based on what was reported a few days ago, I'd be very surprised if this is a normal start for Greinke.

"Greinke will probably pitch an inning or two, then Roenicke said he wants to get an inning for most of his relief corps to tune them up for the playoffs." -TH

I have a really good feeling about tonights game just because there is so much to play for. Obviously winning means we will be home in the NLDS but Braun is playing for a batting title and MVP, Fielder is playing for a HR title, RBI title, and MVP; Grienke is playing for a perfect home record, Axford is playing for the NL Saves Title. There are just a ton of reasons that the Brewers will come out blazing.

I can be the jinx if Jeff freakin Locke shuts us down but we aren't losing tonight

That was when they thought today wouldn't matter. I wouldn't say it's a normal start (100+ pitches) but I could see 5-6 innings if it's needed (then again Greinke 5-6 innings could easily be 100 pitches for Greinke).
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

JJ Hardy just put the Os ahead of the Red Sox 2-1 with a 2-run dinger for his 30th this season (to go along with a .309 OBP), The Rays are trailing 0-5 after a Teixeira grand slam.

With 5 runs in the first, I wonder if the Cards could have held Carpenter back until tomorrow. He was probably all warmed up, but that would have been funny if they could swing that.

L'Shana Tova to you too series...and especially to Braunie!

I am pretty sure you cannot do that. You have to at least face 1 batter.

I just noticed that fellow Racine Native/High School Classmate Jason Jarimillo is starting tonight. Heres hoping the Brewers pitching staff only gives up 3 more hits this evening all to Jason.

Let's win one in style boys!
