I don't know if that call was Roenicke's. Aoki could've dropped that on his own given what the D was showing him. Not saying it was the right decision, just not 100% it was Roenicke making it

If it wasn't Roenicke, he should pull Aoki out. That was so incredibly stupid. 2-1 count, two in scoring position, two outs...and you bunt. My feeling is that Roenicke called that though.

In some ways I wish Lawrie could have been kept. Would've done some real damage in Milwaukee but I understand the idea of getting Marcum too. We aren't in the playoffs last year without him most likely. I'm glad we have Ramirez though. He's a proven RBI machine. Does he not get signed if we still have Lawrie? Lotta things to question.

If Lawrie was at 3B, then no, ARam would not be signed. And just because a guy is an "RBI machine" isn't saying much. RBI are more indicative of opportunity, i.e. where someone bats in the order and whether guys are on base in front of him. I like ARam but saying he's an RBI machine doesn't carry much weight.

Man, you love to argue don't ya? This guy drives in runs. That's been his job his whole career and for the most part has done it very successfully and on some not so great teams too.

No I'm just pointing out that RBI doesn't carry much weight. Just because a guy has a lot of RBI doesn't mean he's good. Example: Yuni.

Actually it kinda does. How many 80+ RBI seasons does Yuni have?

If Gameday is correct, they just had Wolf throwing a 55 mph curveball. Gameday officially listed it as an Eephus pitch. Hilarius.

He had to beat Greinke's 58 mph'er before he gets traded if he wants to win the pool.

Why 80? That seems like a random number. He's got 3 of 67+, which is a decent number for a SS. Casey McGehee also had 104. Its been pointed out many times here that RBI are more reflective of where you bat in the order and whether you have opportunities with men on base. Obviously you still have to hit the ball but like I said high RBI doesn't automatically equal good.

Off the slide, about 460-470 feet I think.

From the replay, I'm actually disappointed it hit the slide, otherwise it would have been out the window Sammy Sosa style.

RT @jstein1981: Estimated distance on Encarnacion's home run that hit @Bernie_Brewer's slide: 463 ft.

What a shot though I must say the "He lifts and separates" HR saying is always a bit awkward.

You have to look at the big picture. Guys who can't hit consistently (McGehee, Yuni) aren't going to get put into RBI spots in the order and aren't going to produce career numbers like Ramirez. High RBI, consistently, does mean you're good.
