I don't see the point of carrying 3 catchers and not playing Maldonado or Lalli at 1B. Especially when the alternative is Yuni Betancourt and his average defense at 1B and lack of much ability at the plate. I know Maldonado and Lalli wouldn't be perfect either, but both seem like better options to me, especially against RHP. At least Yuni is batting 8th and not higher in the order.

To be honest, I'd have him hitting 8th, with Yuni at 7.

I don't really see one as any better than the other at the plate, so if they were hitting 7 and 8 in some order I'd be fine with that. Although it's not like Gomez is swinging a hot bat right now either.
