This isn't the first time the Brewers picked a shorter OF with with a top 10 pick because he was an electrifying base stealer...

 

In the 90s the Brewers selected Chad Green out of Kentucky in spite of questions about his bat. Green flamed out badly.

 

However, don't compare Green to Ray. Green had a much higher OPS.

 

How does the run scoring environment in which Green's numbers were accrued compare to the run scoring environment in which Ray has just participated?

The unknown is, what is the economic status of a kid's family? If they're not very well off, it becomes a lot harder to turn down $1.5M or whatever their slot is worth.

I'm hoping for Connor Burnes or Logan Shore at 46. Shore has had great results and I like that Burnes is a very athletic pitcher.

Lucas Erceg is an interesting selection. I saw him get knocked for possible makeup issues, but I believe it mainly was due to his departure from Cal which seems like it was grade related.

 

Intriguing prospect nonetheless.
