Generally, the only people that want "one thread" are the people that don't use it. Its hard to discuss anything when people are talking about multiple things at once. Its pretty useless.

If every packer topic became a separate thread, this forum would be nothing but a Packer forum, and myself, I would never come back...

Not being a Packer fan, I am constantly bombarded with Packer news, non news, or anything Packer related everywhere I go. Radio ads, tv ads, you name it, Packers are everywhere. I am speaking for myself only, and you are correct, I don't want to see all the Packer topics separately because I wouldn't use them, I like them all in one tidy thread that I can simply ignore... This is my selfish opinion of course...

So sad... just give in and embrace the Green and Gold. Your life will be happier. :)

There are about 10 Packer posters around here. A few might yet come... And there were only a few threads. It wasn't like we were burying the "Techno-Geeks" thread so you couldn't find it. Or polluting the MLB or MiLB forums.

But good news... looks like we are getting another sub-forum for non-Brewer related sports. But you might have to deal with another thread or two in the mean time before it comes to fruition. ;)

When college football (or basketball) games on the ESPN networks run long, causing my DVR (set for ABC) to miss the start of the Badger game which got transferred to ESPNews. For people who live in Wiscobsin, why can't they show the start of the Badger game on ABC and shift the Memphis/UCLA game to ESPNews? I understand that people without a rooting interest in either game would generally rather see the end of a game rather than the beginning of a different one, but for people in the local markets of the late game, they should switch over to the start of that game on the main station.

When the Packers play at 3:25 and the noon game goes long, FOX or CBS will still show the start of the Packer game in the Wisconsin market even though the noon game is still going. Why can't ESPN do the same for college games?

Preach it man! I fell into the same boat as you.
Remember what Yoda said:

I am bugged by the forum autocorrect always changing 'Hader' to 'Vader', 'Suter' to 'Super', and 'Burnes' to 'Barnes.'

As my son would say, first world problems.

It's not the forum, it's whatever device you are using to post on the forum.

Our neighbors have a couple of dogs and built a fence to keep the dogs in. They bought a fence kit, so the panels came pre-assembled; he just dug holes and attached the panels to the posts. The fence panels do not go all the way to the ground. Depending on where the yard is there could be as much as 6-8 inches of clearing between the ground and the fence. Well, the youngest of the dogs has dug several places where he can get out of the fence and is frequently seen in the neighborhood. It has been in my yard several times, and he's big enough to scare my kids (he's probably 35-40 pounds). I have spoken to my neighbor about it and he said as he fixes places the dog digs, the dog just finds new places to dig. Luckily, the dog is pretty timid and responds to when I yell at him to go home. But, I am really tired of this dog in my yard.

That's frustrating. It's his responsibility to watch the dogs when they are out if the fence doesn't work. I'd have a big problem with this if I didn't completely trust the dog.

There are some things that are probably worth paying someone to do professionally, and a fence is probably one of them.

I read this out of context and thought, "I wonder what kind of stolen goods he knows about?"

Clearly, I've been watching too many heist movies/tv shows lately.

Could be. Then again I could have a secret double life as a sleep walking cat burglar that I'm unaware of.

I thought someone else posted this, but I didn't see it, so sorry if this is a repeat.

Do people really have to play music through their bluetooth speakers everywhere? A couple weeks ago, we were hiking at Devil's Lake and this couple was on the trail behind us and they had a speaker in their backpack playing music. Can you not enjoy nature without music? Nature has its own soundtrack and I'd rather be immersed in nature without hearing someone else's music.

Then yesterday the same thing happened when I was golfing. No fewer than 5 groups were playing music on the course. Really?

It was a cheap course west of Madison. I found out there was a bar's annual golf outing, so most of the people that had music were associated with that group and they were pretty wild. But there were no rangers out there to monitor.

8:30 start of a three-hour football game? I can't stay up that late! You'd think for television that tends to be focused on east-coast viewers, they'd schedule things to wrap up a little sooner. Central Time makes it harder, but it's the same thing for the Brewers. I used to be really into boxing, but that's the worst of all since the main events don't tend to start until 11 or 12.

I always wonder about all those early-morning sports talk guys who have all those late games to talk about, yet they're probably waking up at 4am every morning. But I guess they probably show up to work and spend an hour getting a run-down of everything from people who watched it and then watching highlights.

The NFL is very close to being dead to me.

My interest has waned the past several years, and the recent events have really soured me.

If something doesn't change really soon, I'll tune out completely.

Anything but the Packers (and the draft) has been dead to me for years. Close to a decade. Can't remember the last time I watched the Super Bowl; might have been when the Packers last won it.

The 'If it doesn't say Bell on the side, you've just been taken for a ride' slogan at Brewer games has to be the worst slogan like, ever.

Think about that just for a moment. You're in an ambulance. Clearly, something very bad, possibly imminently dangerous to your life or future well-being, has happened. Your last concern in the world, presumably, is the company name of the ambulance that will be escorting you to the hospital, assuming they all provide adequate in-route medical care.

Bell would have you believe, apparently, that even in a life threatening situation, it STILL needs to say Bell on the side. I can picture it now, '9-1-1, what is your emergency?' 'Hi, I've just been in a car wreck and am bleeding profusely. Oh you can have an ambulance there in 5 minutes? Oh, thank goodness. What, it doesn't say Bell on the side? Forgot it, it better say Bell, I don't care how long it takes.'

Cubs fans posing as Brewer fan posters... You really need to be a "L" if you have that much time to fake two (at least) logins here just to post garbage that gets you banned and is deleted quickly....

That's what is for me the most irritating thing of all about the cubs, their fan base. They have some good fans, but they also have such a large base of broseph fans who couldn't tell you anything about, say, Ron Santo if their life depended on it. I'm thinking these are the types Lee Elia was talking about.

Update: The NFL is officially dead to me for the remainder of this season. Nothing they can do now will change my feelings, so hopefully they can get their act together for next year.

Selfish people.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Recent events, as in the horrible officiating? Or the non-playing events?

Men who pee in a toilet when perfectly functional urinals are in the same (private or semi-private) restroom.

If there is a long line for the urinals, maybe, but if you have to poop the last thing I want is to have to clean your splatter off of the toilet first. Use the damn urinal.

Not sure how to put a photo in blue.
