Did Braun get hurt that I did not see? Otherwise it would be idiotic to sit Braun literally the day before the all star break (although I know Counsell has some unwarranted need to play Villar and Perez basically every day )

He did in fact get hurt.

That darn Braun cannot stay healthy. The next time he's back on the DL I say try to trade him to the AL so he can DH and get someone who is not so brittle.

Travis Shaw. This guy. Just wow.

Yay for Travis with the big blast against the Red Sox nemesis Yankees.

The Crew's gain is the Red Sox' loss.

He got hurt running to first base.... Still gotta do that as a DH

And to think at least 1 poster here was upset that Stearns included Shaw in the deal....

Tweet from TH

Travis Shaw easily #Brewers 1st half MVP. 19 HRs, 64 RBI, 56 consecutive games without error. Steal of the offseason.

Arcia needs to make that throw. Jimmy did a nice job working his way out of it.

On a different note, and not that it matters much, but Braun wanted to stay in the game yesterday and I did notice he has his elbow guard on so he might be available to come off the bench.

Holy balls. The Cubs are down 9-0 in the first inning and Vogt just made it 4-0.

I haven't seen it anywhere so I need to ask. What is the story/reasoning behind the dugout and bullpen doing the over the head clapping after home runs? They've been doing it for a while but I never heard any reason.

I have no idea why the Brewers are doing it, but as far as overhead clapping "the Volcano" from Iceland's unlikely run in the Euros last year is pretty good.

Does anyone else think that little whistle tune that the Yankees play after someone strikes out sounds like it came straight out of an X-Files episode?

Santana and Perez cannot figure out that slider. A tip may be to stop trying to pull it.

Lester gave up 10 runs but only 4 were earned. Into the bullpen after 1 inning.

Anyone want to start a pool for which position players will be pitching today?

Is Shaw the best non pitching acquisition of the offseason?
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
