Milwaukee Bucks 2017 - 2018

Other than Boston and maybe Toronto, the East is trash. As mediocre as the Bucks have been, with their 3 game win streak, they're only 3 games out of the three-seed in the East now. I'm not advocating trading picks (and/or Brogdon) to go after Jordan, but there's not much keeping this team and the talent they have from having a home series this year. They're not beating Boston, but I would LOVE to see them just end the streak and win a playoff series.

Well, Cleveland will turn it on when it's time. But they do have a realistic shot at the 4th spot, which would give them home court advantage.

There must be a big that can help them without having to give up Brogdon, etc. Ideally not another Plumley.

Anyone else surprised that Tobias Harris is only 25 years old?

Pls don't remind me of one of the worst Bucks trade ever. Thank god Hammond is gone, hopefully Horst performs like Stearns for the Bucks. He traded for Bledsoe and fired Kidd, so that's a good start.

Very excited that Jabari will return in this Friday's game, this team has the capability to get the 3rd seed.

Man, I hope they don't trade Brogdon. That would bum me out.

Don't do that Jordan trade. Get a serviceable big who can defend the paint and rebound. No need to expend that much capital on Jordan, both in terms of assets and salary cap space.

For me, the problem with trading for Jordan is twofold

1. He can be a free agent after the season

2. To resign him, it'll likely cost around 25 million per

The Bucks could badly use Jordan's defense and especially his rebounding instead playing the toothpick towers 40 minutes a game. Henson has been better this year, but he's more backup caliber and Thon is terrible.

If we didn't have so much overpaid money on the cap via Teletovic, Snell, and Dellavedova eating up about 35 million per combined, i'd be ok with trading for Jordan and resigning him. That's not the case though.

Brogdon and Sterling Brown are definitely keepers, the Bucks should not trade either of them.

Not that I'm rooting for it or anything, but Brogdon is a great sell-high trade piece. He has probably topped out as far as his ability and probably wouldn't blossom into an All-Star on another team. So his value is in his cheap contract, which means his value is only going to go down from here as he gets closer to being an RFA. Once he's making $9M per season he'll just be another $9M player.

I've been against trading assets for a one-year player, but maybe if we'd be able to include one or two of our overpaid players along with, maybe there's a value in sheddin some of that money, even if the one-year rental doesn't re-sign.

As with any trade, depends what you get back. But in general, Brogdon strikes me as a player who will be part of a championship team. Problem is, his next contract will be more than 9MM.

Would be pure stupidity to package multiple useful players together for Jordan. There is no doubt he'd bolt this summer and giving up Brogdon and/or Middleton, Henson or Thon would end up making the Reddick deal look like a steal for the Bucks.

The day before Jabari comes back Brogdon goes down with what looked like a severe injury and Giannis goes down with a sprained ankle.

Why can't we have nice things?

Welcome back Jabari, I know you've had two knee surgeries and this is your first game back. So yea....we're going to need you to play 48 minutes tonight.

i hope that yesterdays game disqualifies Prunty from getting the full time gig. The worst scenario would be that the bucks win enough to not consider other candidates, when i think this will be the best available job over the summer.

Monroe's contract is bought out by Phoenix and is a FA. Do the Bucks have a chance at getting him? He isn't the ideal C, but he fits well as a backup C. Sounds like the Pelicans will put a push with Cousins out.

The Bucks were not allowed to sign him. A bought out player can not go back to the team that originally traded him until his contract expires or July 1st, whichever comes first.

Huh... I did not know that. Seems a little unfair. If someone doesn't want him after the trade, why not? (Rhetorical question, yes, its about skirting salary issues and some possible collusion). Still seems unlikely to ever be abused.

Monroe couldn't be re-signed because players with bad or expiring contracts were being trade, released by their new team and resigned by their old one. This rule closed that loophole.
