Yelich sure wants some hardware.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

We needed an offensive barrage like this. Demoralize the Reds, make them give up and mail in the rest of this series... (wishful thinking)

[sarcasm]Hopefully this finally settles the Christian Yelich vs. Geoff Jenkins debate![/sarcasm] :tongue

I am just kidding, and not trying to offend anyone.

Yelich is like a gift from the baseball heavens.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

That may have won Yelich the MVP right there. This year in particular I think voters will go for the guy that has a few stand out memories.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

I have not seen anything like Yelich in this second half. He is 26. Peak years are 27-31. Goodness.

Posted this in another thread. These numbers are from before the game:

Since the all star game, Christian Yelich is...

4th in BA (.343)

1st in SLG (.700)

3rd in OPS (1.106)

3rd in ISO (.357)

Yelich is putting up early 2000’s numbers.

Ji Mon Choi has been raking the past couple of weeks. Just thought I'd share. Another homer tonight.

I was just thinking, with a lot of everything else being pretty darn equal, Yelich has provided some really cool "moments" lately, which might just give him an edge.

Yeah, he's playing well for the Rays. Good for him, glad that he's somewhere that he can get some playing time.

Yeah, seemed like a good dude. Just bad timing to get a real chance here.

I wonder what Brad Miller is up to?
