I really hope Counsell isn't making decisions off one AB sample sizes. He also had a bomb off RHP Lyles last AB. Hosmer has a .635 OPS vs lefties this year and. 666 for his career. I'm glad it worked out, though.

Has there been any hint as to what Peralta is doing differently to explain this increased velo?

 

I know you get some extra oomph in the bullpen, but he was like 88-95 as a starter, usually sitting like 90-92. Kid just threw 98 on strike 3 there.

 

Wonder what his "perceived velocity" is or whatever they call it when they factor in his extension.
