I walked past Stephen Pearcy (RATT lead singer) at the Denver Airport on Wednesday.  I saw him coming, and thought it was him, and the closer he got the more I knew it was definitely him.

He was alone, and I so much wanted to go up to him and just tell him how much I have appreciated his music and still do.  I have no clue if he is fan friendly though, so I let him be and just chalked it up to a pretty cool moment.

But was it "Way Cool, Jr"?

At this stage of life, he'd probably be really appreciative. But I'm the same as you...Whenever I see someone famous, I leave them alone (except for the time I was drunk at a Cubs game and asked Chris Chelios what he thought about the Univ. of Wisconsin hockey program)

This is both bugging me and not bugging me, but I just found out that you can purchase non-member-exclusive products from Costco's website if you don't have a membership for a 5% surcharge.

Here I've been buying Kirkland brand products on eBay for years.  With 5% surcharge and shipping it's less on Costco.com than what I've been paying.

Why not just join COSTCO?

Yesterday's grocery trip brought a pleasant surprise.  Here at the AC store in Bethel, Alaska they had just gotten in cheese curds, all the way from Ellsworth, WI.  Don't ask what they cost, doesn't matter.  This morning for breakfast I had half a leftover Reuf's brat, kraut, potato salad and cheese curds. Whether or not that voodoo can help the Crew get their act together today is anybody's guess, but I'm trying.

My wife and I hit our 30th anniversary next month.  We have a child with special needs so it is difficult to get away alone.  But I worked it out with my older kids (one out of the house, two in college) to manage the house for a long weekend.

I was able to book an AirBnB in the Ozark mountains, a Sight and Sound show, 2 hour Tram Ride, and a dinner cruise... all without her knowing about it.

Hopefully, I'm not posting about this in the "Whats Bugging you" thread in a month... 😂

I get to work from home today because of a water main break at the building.  Have been in the office 100% since March.  Feels nice not having to drive to work today.

My company does "summer hours" where we can work four 9hour days and half a day Friday.  Nearly everyone works from home on Friday. Given the heavy load of construction on my commute, it is practically like getting a vacation day - and they are often my most productive days.

Daughter got married on Saturday.  Storms literally split around the place where we had the wedding so it could be outdoors.  Very, very cool!

Daddy / Daughter dance went well.  Knees hurt a little afterwards.

Two more daughters and a son to go... 🤪

Two new casinos opening up, both two hours from me. Other ones were too far away. Maybe I'll get back into playing cards, after all. Used to be very good but there's a lotta rust to knock off.

I'm working out in Goodnews Bay and this morning an old friend took me out to catch a pile of salmon.  Mostly silvers (coho) and some reds (sockeye).  Mission accomplished.  It's going to be a year of really good eating at the Cheesehead house.

For the first time in about forever, my aquarium is (basically) algae-free. Been feeding my fish way less (maybe not enough) and I suspect I was adding too much of that water de-chlorinator and that was contributing. Added a second filter and recently learned there's a correct way to stack filter media in a canister. Also added a few cups of water from a nearby stream to add some microscopic buggers.

They're putting in fiber optic lines near me. Don't know if they'll eventually get to my house or not, though. It's very little to be optimistic about, but my internet speed stinks and it would be awesome if that could change.

Same here... and my lawn is in major shambles.  Sod in piles, holes in the ground where they shouldn't be.  If they are not going to fix it in the spring / summer, I'll take 10 years of 1G fiber to compensate..🤔

Fiber optic is so fragile.  All it takes is someone with a shovel to hit the line and it is dead.  Also they don’t tend to bury these lines all that deep.

Yeah, that's true. But still better than copper lines or tree-covered satellite.

A friend said he was getting 50 Mgs on AT&T's wi-fi service, so I got that box. Basically $50/mo. I haven't run it yet to see, but the salesmen weren't too optimistic as I'm not in a great location. But with the leaves off the trees I should have waited two-ish months to see what the difference is when my satellite service is at its worst.

Co-worker has a cherry-picker but he hasn't agreed to come over yet. Would like to at least lop off limbs, but better top a tree and hang the dish up there. Hanging an extension pole from a roof-height lightpole I have in the back yard is the other idea.

Copper and shovels have the same effect but much less bandwidth....

Having said that, my neighborhood is still DSL only (90MPS max).  They are installing fiber around us... but I doubt I'll be getting it anytime soon.

1G Fiber being installed in 2 weeks.  Finally.  Will run over and cancel Spectrum right away, but will probably end up eating a month's worth.

The AT&T contractor destroyed my hard to put in the cable runs and to park their equipment over the winter.  The sales person said to talk to the installers since they will be running the fiber underground from the pop in my yard.  If that doesn't get resolved, then I'll post on the "What's Bugging You" topic.  😄
