Vinny Rottino scouting report for today...

Chad Kuhl: Athletic build, thrower type w/ effort and head pull through release, FB 94/96 w/hard bore, bel avg cmd, plus SL 87/89 short sharp 2 plane break, weapon, solid CB 79/81 bigger break w/tilt. Has ability to get s/m and weak contact w/out pitch SL, will offer free pass.

Brewers going for series win. Wait out Kuhl who can be erratic at times. Force him to throw strikes. Get on base and put pressure on him. Keep battling and good things happen when they put the ball in play as seen last night. Fred is going today. Should be a good one!

Not just “at Night” anymore.

The Pirates have 6 of their 8 position players swinging from the left-side today. Freddy’s been pretty darn good against LHHs this year (and not bad for his career), so hopefully that continues today.

No Jace in your face today...

Gives Counsell the flexibility to play his “jAce in the Hole” at a crucial moment down the stretch.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Did anyone have a starting lineup of...

Bradley Jr

Vogelbach

Garcia

Shaw

Hiura

McKinney

Pina

Robertson

.. predicted for game 15 of the year a month ago?

I know these weird things happen every year but it is always funny. You start the year expecting one thing and then two weeks later it is all a scramble.

I don’t quite get the Vogelbach in the 2-hole when Hiura is swinging and seeing it better.

Edit- Nice of him to smack one out finally.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I am surprised every time I see Garcia's ops and batting average. Just seems like he is hitting way better than his numbers

Probably because a lot of his hits have come at clutch times...

Shaw has looked awesome in most at bats I watched this year
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Very nice to get off to a good start in this one.

So Garcia is getting about as unlucky as you can possibly get.

I remember someone posting here that his hard hit percentage was crazy high too

Well at least Keston is whiffing at 2B today and batting 5th

They seem comfortable putting Keston at 2B when they have a high strikeout starter on the mound. And they have 3 of those, so...
