Literally everyone in the stadium saw it plain as day on the video board,

Ah yes, the clearly unbiased fans saw it lol. Calls that were much more obvious than that have stood, so I'm not sure why you guys are surprised. It was close from hand to base to the tag and they couldn't for sure say with 100% certainty that some part of his glove didn't touch some part of his jersey before he touched the base, so it stood.

Even the most biased fans have eyes that work. That's all you needed to see that was a terrible call.

Umps having another banner evening. Unbelievable

Not the umps on the field who messed up. That was bang bang, I can see how the ump at 2B missed the call, but it is inexcusable for them to fudge it up in New York.

Pathetic.

I agree—that is a completely fair point. But we wouldn’t have even needed a steal if the field umps would call obstruction even 1/10th as sensitively as it was called on Godley. It’s starting to pile up.

What I don't understand is they had an angle that showed Wong's hand touch 2nd base and they had an angle that showed the glove tagging Wong, can't they run them side by side to figure out which happened first? Doesn't the NFL do it that way?

One thing they could do to improve replay from an entertainment and transparency standpoint is show the audience the exact same images the replay officials are looking at. Basically sync the replay review with the broadcast.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Or at least share the images with broadcasters after the fact.

Could be they want Suter available tomorrow……or another reason that we aren’t aware if.

This is my thinking. Tomorrow looks like another scramble day, so you want to make sure you can throw him if you need. Maybe he would have stayed if the Crew took the lead.

Williams change up good against lefties, but why not get another inning out of Suter with extras possible

You want Suter facing Turner?

If he had given up a homer the board would have been screaming at CC for not going to Williams.

Well, I think we found the lousy ump from New York.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I also wish they would say something instead of just giving a signal and that’s it.

Sooner or later the Dodgers are going to snap out of it and puts some welts on teams.

Hopefully not till they leave Milwaukee.

No, it's just that we've seen how replay works over how many years now? It has to be incredibly obvious for it to be overturned and while he was very likely safe, it didn't rise to the incredibly obvious level.

I think a big part of replay is I have no idea on the actual standard that needs to be met to overturn a call. Sometimes, it seems it's like 100 percent clarity. Other times, it seems to be closer to just probably.

We now go live to Angel Hernandez behind home plate.

Have to love his confidence and lack of self-awareness to sue MLB though.

I wonder if it makes sense to wait to use Hader until the 10th since you start in a jam and a strikeout can help. Let a lesser guy work the bottom on the order clean. Tough call but worth a thought.

I’m surprised Counsell would be bringing Hader into a tie game when he has pitched the two precious days. It seems like his performances when pitching 3 days in a row haven’t been great, and that will definitely take him out for tomorrow.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Yeah, this. If they want to say Wong is out because they were only 80% sure he was safe and you need to be 99%+ sure to overturn it, fine. I can live with that. But be consistent. Don't have "we think so" to be the basis for overturning on one play and "we need to be absolutely certain" be the basis on another play. That's crap.
