To be fair on Peterson, if you're watching the CF mis-plays the ball rolling by him, I imagine never seen Winker immediately backing him up to scoop and throw him out on a still close play at 2b. Then Pina's ground ball is a hit if it weren't a C/Pitcher/lumbering 1b. Always get a kick when announcers say what a play when its just luck that you had a slow runner. I could see Ronald Acuna taking that to 2b if that SS tried to throw him out continuing on.

Sorry man, not how it works. Hiura got to second because he had nothing to lose if it was caught or not. Jace would have had to wait unsure if it would be caught or not (less than two outs). Considering it was in RF behind first base he probably would have been halfway. After he didn’t get there Jace would have hustled to second.
