Well, we have some work to do to get back into this one. I hope we didn't use up all of our magic last night

Bears mentioning that all three aces have reached or are imminently approaching their career highs for innings pitched. I worry about this fact more than anything else about our title pursuit. Not that the Brewers really could do anything more than what they already have about it, but it could be a factor nonetheless.

Yep. This exactly. We may end up needing a lot of runs come playoff time. Or just down the stretch even. But the Brewers have done all they can to give themselves a shot.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Some of these hot takes about Woodruff are straight up “LOL”.

Criticizing his last month like it hasn’t been good and we would have cried like it was our first born if we had someone like this a few years ago. His ERA coming into today was barely above 2. His ERA the last month was sub 3.

Panic button hot takes for the win.

Burnes: 125 so far (145 in 2017, minors)

Woody: 145 so far (158 in 2016, minors + majors)

Peralta: 121 so far (new career high)

Brewers aren't going to win every game, sometimes baseball happens...that hanging curve to a guy who couldn't touch a fastball inside really stings in terms of both bad pitch selection and execution in that spot, though.

These game threads can be awful. You said what I was thinking.

Yeah, Woody was maybe trying something with the offspeed too....

I want to sweep as much as anyone just because Cardinals, but if the Brewers lose, they'll still have done exactly what they needed to. Started 8-2 on a big 19-game stretch, plus extended the division lead.

I hope Votto cools off next week. Talk about hot. What is that guy doing for this fountain of youth?

I firmly believe they pursed Scherzer because he could provide insurance in case of injury or tiring by one or more of our studs.

This has been reported, Brewers did pursue but Scherzer only wanted to go to a west coast team.
