Fun Fact: Darren O'Day will turn 40 at the end of this season.

Braves going younger here, Jesse Chavez turns just 39 in August.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

So the entire point of starting a runner on second is to try and end games ASAP if I'm not mistaken, and both teams score anyway. I don't see how this rule makes a lick of difference.

B.A.: "We'll see who comes out in the 11th for Milwaukee". Well Brian, you are there, you should know who was warming up - not that its relevant information the viewers should know or anything.

If that was the primary goal the best way to accomplish it would be to start with the bases loaded.

Is it the primary goal? I'm just assuming that. Either way I still don't like it. I'm a traditionalist.

Sutter pitched one inning yesterday, so did Boxberger.  Neither of them are better options?. Also, almost zero mention from B.A or Rock regarding what is going on with Hader.  Does Sophia have off today?

Yes, I think ending games earlier in extra innings was the main goal. Front offices didn't like having their bullpens torched in random 14+ inning games.

I think both teams scoring is an anomaly, especially when one of those teams is the Brewers. This rule definitely is in the Brewers favor as it’s very difficult for them to string multiple hits together in one inning.

At least I now know that the Philadelphia Phillies are a better baseball team than the St. Louis Cardinals (I think). What a waste of time……lol.

I’m done for today … I would rather lose in 9 innings than deploy this bullpen in extras … I want to enjoy my vacation - I will check the score later at dinner

I can only tolerate so much mediocrity in one day - first Hiura, now Kelley - both AAA players who need a return flight to Nashville ASAP

Have a call up Trevor Kelley. Hell of an inning given the circumstances. What can you do about a well-executed jam shot to right field. We can work with this!

The extra-inning runner was one of the few things MLB and the MLBPA could agree on because it prevents 5+ hour games. The only people who don't like it are the fans.

Personally, I'm pretty lukewarm on it. I don't really like it but also don't understand the ferocious hatred of it, either.

I'll politely disagree on Kelley señor. That was a fine inning. He gave up a first pitch oppo jam shot. That was a big league poke hit. He settled down and was excellent. This is his first big league inning since 2020. I was quite impressed.

They need to stop calling it a "ghost runner" considering the runner actually exists on the physical plane.
