They've actively and openly shopped him, and they've shown a willingness to deal relievers before, even when contending.

What is the recent precedent for a huge trade haul for a reliever? The relief market in general just hasn't been what it was. It's not like 2016 anymore when the Yankees got a top end prospect for a rental of Chapman.

Unfortunately despite his dominance the club control is dwindling and the price tag on Hader is increasing which further lessens his value.

Hader's the most valuable reliever in modern baseball history. A team like the Yankees or Dodgers would likely pay a premium at this point. And I think the main reason they've refused to pull the trigger is because we've been contending and dealing him would have severely hindered our chances with how reliant on a dominant back end of the bullpen we have been. I don't think it's accurate to say that Stearns was "actively shopping" him. He was just keeping all of his options open given the constraints of our market size, as he should. Something like what the Yankees got for Chapman should be an expectation, given that Hader has a whole extra year of control remaining. Just look at last year, when the Cubs got Madrigal for Kimbrel...

About 95% of "fans" that go to Ballet, Symphony, concerts etc. would not be able to tell the difference between the Milwaukee version and the best in the US.  Even many cover bands are as good or better than the original.  For the Brewers, about 10% of their fans can't tell the difference between the Brewers and a really good team.  It's just not even close.

And another reason why this team sucks.  Their defense is brutal

We don't have to add it. We've known that for a while.

A high percentage of Brewers fans also believe that if Woodruff, Peralta, Adames, Renfroe, and Wong hadn't been on the DL for the better part of the last 10 days they wouldn't have a seven game going on eight game losing streak.

Milner is not one of the problems right now...

Well your posting will drop precipitously if you just mention who isn't a problem right now.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry with this post...

Uhhh, Josh Hader is worth more than those players were, especially if he were to go at this year's deadline...

Do you realize how immature you sound when you start your posts with things like “Uhhh” and “Dude”?

You can make your point by just stating it or using simple words like “I disagree”.

Hader is one guy. By himself he isn’t going to bring as much as the Cubs 4 did

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Wrong. Cain makes 18 million this year. Suppan never made that type of money with the Brewers. So no they didn’t basically eat 12 million (2/3 of 18 million) with Suppan.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/06/brewers-release-jeff-suppan.html

The Brewers ate $10.08M of Suppan's salary in 2010, which is just north of $13.5M in 2022 dollars.

Maybe check your facts before you so confidently assert how "wrong" others are.

I really don't care what you think at this point. Though, I'm not sure it's much different from accusing someone of being someone they're not. Anyways, you said too bad we don't have anyone to fetch what the Cubs got last deadline, when, in fact, we have someone who is more valuable than all of those guys were. And if Woodruff were to become healthy and made available, I would say we would definitely have a shot at equaling their haul.

I always thought Attanasio had real guts when he decided to fire Yost in the middle of our September swoon in 2008.
I'm not saying he should go ahead and fire Counsell tonight, but something along those lines needs to be done.

There’s a big difference. Yost had the type of personality that tended to make players tight, and he wasn’t what the team needed at that point. Even then, though, I thought that was a questionable move that was more for appearance than substance.

I don’t think firing Counsell is what this team needs.

The Brewers must lead baseball in ninth inning runs in losses.

They have to follow the script of falling short.  Can't change 52 years of tradition.

Good job making this somewhat interesting at the end. But we're past moral victories. We need to win a game, bottom line. and then win many more games after that.
