How about a Sal Frelick homer? Jeeeeeebus H. Biscuits are Frelick and Mitchell scorching right now. This is so fun to watch! Those hip flips to right field are becoming a thing:

RHP Taylor Floyd is getting absolutely hosed and gamed by the home plate umpire. It's really weird. Here's hoping he can hold things together. It doesn't look good. But, man, that was just a weird weird goings on here in the ninth.

Edit to Add: NOPE. Not good at all. It was such an unraveling. So tantamount to Floyd's 2022. He walked in a run and then gave up a 3-1 Grand Slam. It's now 10-4 Kernels. YUCK. What happened was a single and walk to start things off. A clear missed strike call. Then a broken bat foul that resulted in a weird pitch clock confusion. The home plate ump called an auto-ball clock violation as he was leaving the mound to throw home. The home plate ump clearly had words for Floyd. He then absolutely screwed Floyd on another strike. Led to bases loaded. Then the grand slam. Floyd completely lost his composure.

Get Frelick to AAA! Kid is just roasting AA right now! Nice to see Turang showing more power lately. Oh & a healthy Mitchell reminding us what he can do.

Alexander Cornielle may be the best of the young 20 & under International arms working way up. Many will go with Cruz with his command but it’s close between those two.

Chourio with debut we all were hoping for! Was nervous he’d maybe have the bump slump many have while adjusting… hope he stays hot!

Make that 3 more scoreless innings of work for RHP Ryan Middendorf so far tonight. 4 k's. 1 H. 0 BB. He has yet to give up a run in Low-A. I love the cut of this young man's jib. That's 3 outings to date in Carolina, 6 IP (so far - he may pitch further tonight) 4 H, 0 BB, 9 k's. Carolina holding a 7-3 lead at Fayetteville in the 8th inning.

Nice to see Brice Turang step up to provide much-needed offense when Nashville needed it. Singled and scored in the 6th inning to tie it. 2-run homer in the 7th inning to provide helpful breathing room in 5-2 win.

Weston Wilson and Mario Feliciano also threw out guys on the bases, while the defense committed no errors. I guess we should get used to Hiura and Reetz alternating in left field.

INF/OF Yeison Perez with another 2-for-4 game today. He hit his 8th double and grabbed a walk to boot. He's now hitting 0.329 with a 1.094 WHIP in 85 AB's.

Looks like Osbriel Mogollon went 4 IP | 0 R | 1 H | 1 BB | 4 K in the other DSL game to lower his ERA to 1.04 on the season,

People complain about how long MLB games are, but it’s just that much more time to dig into the minor boxes ?

That's the spirit. Just wait until they institute the pitch clock at the MLB level. Auto-ball calls with the bases juiced are super intense! I swear I thought Taylor Floyd might lose it tonight and start a fist-to-cuff with HP umpire Glen Meyerhofer. It was, um, uncomfortable.

A Triple-A rotation of Keston Hiura and Jakson Reetz in left field. ?

Jace Clutch Avina with a 3-run dinger in the bottom of the 7th inning to give ACL Brewers Blue a 5-4 lead. Better make room in the Carolina outfield.

So much juice going on right now in the outfield. I have a serious crush on Avina's ACL Mayor of Ding Dong City potential. I have to calm myself. 9 HR, 99 AB, 1.101 OPS, 25 RBI. Settle down! Settle down!

Such a sweet swing, hopefully he can cut down those Ks. Loving his potential! Think he should have got call over Fernandez who really has a major contact issue.

Oh, hey, another scoreless outing for RHP Quinton Low. 1 IP, 2 K, 0 H, 0 BB. He hadn't pitched in two weeks but he's yet to surrender a run in the ACL.

How about an absolute rocket to the wall in deep right field to grab his first rbi? One-hopped the wall. It's 4-1. A single, a double, and a walk. Whewwwwwwww. Crushing on this young man.

That sound though....

The ball rifles off his bat. His bat speed and his bat power is unreal given his current frame. He has the hit tool in spades. He'll want the missed breaking ball back in his third AB. A well-hit grounder scorched off his bat in the 4th AB - directly at the second baseman. A hell of a night. Very successful debut.

Just got back from the Rattlers game.  Chourio is the real deal.  Someone mentioned it before, but he has a knack for finding the barrel of the bat.  Everything he hit was just scorched.  So much composure too.  Just looked super comfortable at the plate and with his coaches and teammates.  He just met them yesterday, but just totally fit in.  If he was nervous today, he did not show it.

Last nights Trats game was the first time I’ve been to a game in person with a pitch clock.  The pace of the game was soooo much better.  Was a high scoring game with a fair amount of pitching changes, plus a injury to a pitcher so a longer warmup, and was a 2:40 game.

Churio looked the part, ball jumped of his bat, has some wheels, covers a lot of ground in CF and fast and aggressive on the bases.  Made a real good read on a bloop to go 1st to 3rd.

Did you stay through the ninth inning debacle? If you did: What did you think of that extremely odd sequence between the home plate umpire and Taylor Floyd after the broken bat foul ball? The pitch clock seemed unknown. And, he called the violation as he was leaving the mound to pitch the ball. I found it utterly odd.

@Joseph ZarrNo mention of Jake Cousins pitching a clean inning with no BB and 2 Ks in Arizona?

If the Brewers can't land a CF before the trade deadline, I wonder if Mitchell gets the call as one of the two extra roster spots?

I did not mention this, no. If I'm being dead honest, and I out myself, I didn't even remember Jake pitched until after I submitted my report. LOL. I expect Jake Cousins to pitch clean in Arizona. Where I need Jake Cousins to pitch clean is in Milwaukee. I haven't seen that in some time. A healthy and effective Topa and Cousins could do the Brewers bullpen miracles. I'm not expecting that to happen but I sure hope it does. I'm 'worried' the honeymoon period with Jake has ended and he's now just an average low-leverage MLB pitcher. My hope is I am dead wrong and he's still a 7th/8th inning guy.

As to if they can't land a CF'er...that's a tough one. Frelick and Mitchell are both sizzling hot. Mitchell's injury history is quite concerning but it may simply be bad luck. This is the first truly sizzling hot spell either player has been on in Double-A but manager Mike Guerrero always says: "If you can play down here, you're a Big League player". I certainly don't see another viable option in Triple-A. I guess we'll see come the deadline.

Yea we stayed the whole time, was with a group of 12, and only 1 person had any idea of what actually happened.
