Yeah, I’m ready for Stearns’ tenure to be over. This season is a waste and I’d be very surprised if they actually supplemented the offense this off-season. The window is closing fast.

We're all frustrated by the last 48 hours, but lets not forget all the wins Sterns has. Our confidence has definitely been shaken, but lets see how this plays out over the next month or so. With that said, it's pretty easy to be pissed right now.

I'm just glad that the bullpen is stronger after the Hader trade.

Let's check on the next 50-some games, shall we? We had two pitchers tonight who gave up runs for the first time in weeks. WEEKS.

Obviously, the run prevention unit isn't preventing runs, and that includes the defense. For the last three games, we've walked a hitter when leading & the opposition had absolutely nothing going on, no momentum. Each time it led to a turnaround.

I know it sounds like an oversimplification, but they're playing like crap & need to play better--like they've done for stretches this season. Consistency has to be there preventing runs, because the offense disappears for innings at a time, we've all seen it.

It sounds like CC isn't giving anyone in the pen a defined role right now, I think that needs to change.

I almost hope we miss the playoffs.  Even if we do we aren't gonna do much.

I’m not going to hope the Brewers miss the playoffs, but I will have to say this game doesn’t upset me like they sometimes do,

I really think that the deadline moves made me feel like Stearns doesn’t think the team is a serious contender to go far either, so he’s looking more to the future and being satisfied that the team figures to be in the playoff hunt until late in the season. If they can squeak into the expanded playoffs that’s a bonus, and anything after that is gravy. I think he realizes that, no matter what he can do within reason, the Brewers would be big underdogs against teams like the Dodgers, Braves, Mets, and Padres. So there’s no reason to sacrifice being competitive in the future to chase a long shot at advancing as far as the World Series.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Blow it up, get them Top 100 prospects for Burnes, Woodruff and Adames. Plug Keston into the clean up spot everyday!!

Here we go with Keston

That’s what we need - more strikeouts

You may be correct. But the future isn't guaranteed.  The anticlimax of the blah blah deadline seems worse than the last 2 losses. Or it makes the losses sting more.

I’ll admit that I’m very worked up over the last few days, but how management has approached these last few years has really bothered me. They haven’t done anything to really supplement the offense after their great run in 2018. We all knew their window was short with the best pitching in franchise history and they didn’t do anything to really improve the team. Yeah, they’ll be competitive for as few more years, but just making the postseason isn’t enough anymore. This trading deadline is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me.

Sarcasm, etc.

Lovely

Feliciano or the former Marlin (name escapes me) who can’t hit?

Jackson hasn't even played for Nashville after his rehab assignment ended despite being active.  Not sure what's going on there.

So I guess it would be Feliciano, unless they suddenly do something interesting and go with Reetz.

I was being facetious. Although given the Narvaez injury they should have DFA’d Hiura instead of Severino

I’d love for Reetz to come up & rake

The Brewers offense continues to score runs after everyone wanted a bat, meanwhile the bullpen which got rid of the best RP in baseball for the past 5 years and replaced it with Rogers (who is fine) and something called Matt Bush can’t keep the lowly pirates off the board. Who knew?

If Stearns was looking toward the future then we should have been big time sellers and got a boat load of prospects for Burnes, Woody, Peralta and other starters.  This club right now is not a WS caliber even before we traded Hader - just a big tease.

The Hader comments are just so damning of how this organization is approaching things.

I think it's causing a real issue in the clubhouse. Maybe someone needs to call a meeting and tell everyone to stop their whining, it happens, get it together and go win some ballgames.

Brewers have now blown leads in their last 3 all resulting in losses.

Yep. And like I said, all three opp. rallies start with walks--walks in low-pressure situations.

There's no reason not to expect this pen to be good more often than not. But Ashby, Burnes(???) and tonite Peralta just started a fire where there was none. It's supposed to be the strength, that's what hurts.

If that's an issue, yes. I was wondering the same thing. But does a team suffering from that sort of stuff come off the deck the way they did in the 8th? I dunno.

But he’s going for the future in a rolling way. Not in the form of a complete tear down hoping to be competitive 4-5 years from now.

The Brewers know that they can’t afford a string of 100 loss seasons and expect to keep enough fans in the seats to pay the bills. But winning 85-90 games (which now gives a team a pretty good shot at making the playoffs) while also keeping some familiar players for the fans to relate to will draw enough interest.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
