After this game, Brewer fans will be Smyly.  :)

Wood is good ...soon and very soon this will be understood!

Brewers have hit a period where it is tough ...

BUT, we'll get through this beginning with Ruff!

Gee I thought left-handed starters were rare, but it seems like every team has at least 2 to face the Brewers, or do they know how bad this team can be against left-handed pitching and stack the rotation for the series with the Brewers.  Either way it could be another brutal game.  Prove me wrong BREWERS!

Of course Hiura goes back to the bench, Its a lefty starter but Hiura really should be playing everyday regardless.

LOL ... Hiura continues to inexplicably be atrocious against lefty pitching. Multiple posters have complained for weeks every time he's batted against a lefty pitcher, saying that Counsell is inept. Now Counsell is finally playing the numbers and sitting Hiura against a lefty, and your whining about it.

That tracks actually.

Gonna be a good day.

I think 17-1, Brewers.

Time to wake up the bats.

If Counsell was actually playing Hiura against all righties you might have a point but that isn't happening and if you want to pick out Hiura for his struggles against lefties what about Wong who hasn't hit them either.

McCutchen hitting third everyday is another stupid move by this manager.

Not nearly as silly as Adames hitting 2nd. Whatever. This team has major flaws; I don't think the lineup order really matters at this point.

This roster has too many guys who can't hit lefties. It's one of the most annoying aspects of this team. There aren't really any good options to start at 2B against lefties right now with Brosseau on the IL.

Why is Wong playing against a lefty.

Because Brosseau is on the IL....Unless you want Keston at 2B again, which was fine yesterday because Peralta is a heavy flyball pitcher, but shouldn't happen regularly. Hiura doesn't hit lefties well anyways.

This is a tough lineup against a lefty.  Shows how we aren't well rounded enough offensively.  On an absolute different note, am I the only one that cringes with this years Adames in the #2 hole. I think we could benefit from shifting him to the 3 hole while moving up a 'higher OBP' guy with power to the 2 hole.

I'm not nuts about Wong starting vs a LHP but you're right; the best option tonight is busy playing in Durham.

There's also this little thing called a glove, which becomes more vital when you're having trouble scoring runs & playing low scoring games.

He certainly doesn't fit the traditional 2-hitter profile & I'm not nuts about him hitting there. If Urias was "2021 Urias" he'd be an option. Wong has cooled off again, plus that's 2 LHH at the top which we apparently don't like to do.

There's a guy playing in Durham tonite who would fit that spot pretty well.

If teams are still setting rotations to pitch their lefties against the Brewers to beat them, that's just sad.

I mean, they’ve been doing it since last august.  it’s more sad that nothing has been done about it.

I can understand teams doing that last year. The Brewers were good then.

He’s hitting better than anybody on the team AND we have the DH AND he gets scraps for at bats.
Inexcusable.
