Hope so. But CC history is against it.

Looks like CC is going to go with Perdomo for the final 2. Hope it's smooth sailing.

Quero hit another HR tonight (2-run jack) and finished 3-for-5. Man, I have a serious serious man crush on this young catcher. The evolution of his offensive game from game 1 in Zebulon to what he's putting forth in Wisconsin is pretty wild. He exudes confidence and his swing has major major contact potential. We 'might' have ourselves our Ivan Rodriguez. I don't say this lightly.

I've been super high on him ever since we signed him. Plus-Plus defense at a premium position and now potentially a plus bat? Him and Chourio could be a sight to behold.

Definitely. He's already the best defensive catcher in the system - Severino included - by a pretty fair margin. He just has athleticism in his stance nobody else possesses. We couple this with his cannon of an arm. And, now, we have a bat that is freshening up with an approach that is repeatable, confident, and has gap power? Man, I have to hold myself back. There's just SO much to love with his tools. To think his bat could develop alongside Chourio's? I almost get palpitations. ?

High pitch out of the zone on Huira called a strike. Rock says, "I have no problem with his strike zone tonight, get em' swinging". How about just calling the zone per the rules Rock? Then, next pitch hits the dirt in front of the plate and Huira swings at it for strike 3. Rock says, "Slider, low in the zone,  for a swinging strike." Uh, no Rock...not close to the zone.

oh boy

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Would have been a different pitching decision if we were up by only 2 or maybe even 3 and we would have been better off

Exactly.  He wouldn't have been tempted to use his uh.... less desirable bullpen pieces.

I'm not gonna second guess taking a guy out with a 5 run lead in the 8th.

Willy has had a decent night at the dish.

He should have been standing on third if he didn’t admire his long double. Cost us a run and maybe the game.
