Not to get ahead of myself but does anyone know the WC format? Is it 1-1-1? I have a wedding next weekend and I'm wondering if our home game would be Saturday, or do we have to force Game 3 to get home?

Higher rated team gets all 3 at home so if we make it we would play St. Louis 3 times in St. Louis.

All the games would be on the road:

The Wild Card Game has been replaced by the best-of-three Wild Card Series, which functions as the first round of play. The higher seed in each Wild Card Series will host all the games of that series, be it two or the maximum three games.

Yeah, will be interesting to see how the new format shakes out.

Teams that get the bye don’t play their first game until Tuesday the 11th.

Obviously ATL/NYM are still fighting for the division, but if LAD, HOU and NYY cool their jets at the end of the regular season a bit you start getting into like a week plus without really playing.

Feel like it could favor the #1 WC (who normally has the 2nd/3rd best record anyway) since they have a good chance to build momentum at home heading into the DS, but then they have to use their top two tree starters in the WC round so maybe that mitigates it somewhat.

Seems like the Brewers are in total command of this game and should be ahead comfortably. Yet, it’s too close for comfort.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Yep, because we can’t hit with RISP.

Now they have up a single and a HR will tie it. Makes me nervous.

Six more outs

I use to do this until the 2019 wild card game thread. Since then counting down outs remaining in an important game only brings back haunting memories.

Not just “at Night” anymore.
