Okay. Totally fine with pitching depth and Trevor Kelley no longer being on the 40 man. At the same time, Wilson's numbers aren't exactly inspiring....I do think there's more to work with here than with Jason Alexander, so that's something.

Just another 5.5 ERA guy to add to the collection.

Dumpster diving seems to be the 2022/23 offseason theme.

I thought trading was the 2022/23 offseason theme.

Contreras/Payamps/Yeager for Ruiz.

Winker/Toro for Wong

Junk/Peguero/Seminaris for Renfroe.

Wilson, Henry, Guerra, Miller all dealt for in minor moves.

For a guy who throws hard he has a terrible K rate. But, whatever, he's an interchangeable part that will be dumped as soon as something better comes along. Probably even before spring training.

Right ... he's the type of guy they could immediately send to Arizona and get into the pitching lab to see if there's anything there. He did have some initial success with the Braves, but hasn't found any sort of consistency for the most part.

Out of options. Not sure I understand. But Kelley’s already 30 years old, so I guess he was hanging by a thread. Hope it works out for both players.

Kelly was never going to contribute significantly. I'm fine with the low-upside shot, as long as we aren't stuck with a bullpen full of bargain bin, misfit toys.

I wonder if there was something they see they think would play better in the pen than the rotation.

I actually spent the past half an hour looking through his stats and writing this. That's the conclusion I drew as well.

Meh, this move won't stop any other potential move from happening. Depth moves like this happen every offseason.

If he can get his fastball back up to 95-96 MPH with his new splitter (which looks pretty nasty) and decent curve there's definitely potential there as a reliever

"Dumpster Diving" - it might surprise people to find out that all teams turn over the bottom of their roster by finding someone incrementally better.  Occasionally, you find a gem.  Rarely does it actually hurt anything or prevent other moves.

This season was certainly  a season of trades instead of FA signings, but that should be expected by now.  Most of our major improvements over the past 5 years has been via trade or internal.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Pitching depth is fine but still, this is borrrrinnnngggggg.

The best part of this transaction is no more Trevor Kelley on the roster

Good thing you can dumpster dive in a multitude of ways.
