Diving into first might not be the smartest thing, but if you’re going to do it, a swim move that delays your first contact with the base is really dumb.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I got a pleasant surprise with my boss letting me leave early without even me asking. I thought "Great! I get to see the Brewers game today."

I wish I would've stayed at work.

Looked at game day and ump had 8 calls in favor of Cubs 7 in favor for Brewers. The difference was Cub favored was low or outside pitches. Brewers favor was mostly high inside strikes called balls for bats and strikes for pitchers when out of zone.  Swinging strikes to outside pitches were occurring often for Brewers bats after trained those were strikes against them. Ump had huge impact on this 0 run. Performance.

The good:  Turang!  Speedy games! Baseball is back!

The bad:  Our two players who spent all offseason looking for big money were our biggest problems today.  Balls and strikes.  Chicago in March.

The comical: Frelick has gotta be thinking, “you wouldn’t let me crack this lineup?”

Oh well.  Woody has a shot at them on Saturday (weather permitting).  I feel better about that game.

Rough start for the position players for sure. The offense did a good job getting on base and getting into scoring position early but it felt like after the Rowdy GIDP followed up by giving up 4 runs they just sort of folded for lack of a better term. Adames had a really rough day in this both at the plate and defensively. The one plus was the three Bullpen guys all looked. Not ideal to start 0-1 in Chicago but cold weather is always an equalizer hopefully we can still take the series

42 degree day and the ump had the strike zone the size of Nebraska. Nothing to worry about. They should of had about 3-4 more walks. Offense will be fine. Burnes will be fine once we get out of this weather. The fact that they play games in Chicago in March is still one of the dumbest things MLB has done.

12 k's great way for the offense to start maybe we can add a 3rd Hitting Coach.

To Bad the Brewers don't have a Hitting lab to Mirror their Pitching lab

After watching Urias limp off after that slide, I wonder if we’ll be seeing one of Wiemer/Frelick sooner than later…

Anderson back to 3rd

Wiemer to RF

Guessing we'd see Toro come up if Urias has to go to the IL
