Three way tie for ROY

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Great finish to an up and down game. Mitchell proving everybody wrong with the homers. Need Burnes to get back to ace level for this team to reach its full potential.

Don't look now but Mitchell has been showing that in game power for a not so small sample size.

What I like most about Mitchell in this young stage is the Clutch factor. He has come through now in several key and clutch moments. He has that innate capacity to meet the moment. This is huge. And, it's something we didn't know we had in the lower levels.

One footnote on this game.

This was a relatively slow game because there were a lot of runs scored and a lot of baserunners that tend to slow the game down. Yet the game time was 2:45. If they can deliver this much action in less than 3 hours, attending games will be a lot more fun than it has been in recent years.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Great opportunity to pour it on the Cardinals this weekend as they’re scuffling and experiencing clubhouse issues. Pitching matchups in our favor, too.

Also, if Mitchell is elevating the ball this consistently, we may be talking superstar. Just so much to be excited about with the freshmen.

too many home runs

Jesse Winker with 2 doubles today.

Good thing our loser manager doesn’t listen to random fans on message boards

It’s only 6 games in but I love this team.

Only six games in and this is the most excited I've been about a Brewers team in five years, and by a wide margin. What a great core of young talent, and there's even more waiting in the minors. Sure, the young guys will cool off some eventually, but how can you not be excited about the future of this team? Sooner rather than later.

CC said Ashby having shoulder surgery and will be out most of if not the entire season. That is a bummer.

Ugh. That absolutely stinks.

I’m guessing you are talking about Matt Arnold, because I don’t know why Craig Counsell would deserve any credit as Winker has played well all year basically. This team has made it pretty easy for Counsell.

If you are indeed talking about Arnold, careful with your hot takes. A 6 game hot streak is pretty meaningless. Are you also ready to release Corbin Burnes for his start. Time to release Wily Adames?

Fun to start the year on a hot streak, but some of these hot streaks are probably not going to last and some will go back to how we expected them to hit and/or rookies will look like rookies.

They are talking about someone calling Counsell a loser manager in this thread for starting Winker today.

Brewers can't catch a break!

But yeah really wanted him to show off somewhere in this season.

Bullpen in Sept hopes?

Runs scored last four games: 9, 10, 9 & 7

Giddy up!

I'm really concerned about the downward trend in our offense...

Well, I was in staff meeting today with my camera on and taking peeks of the game when Mitchell walked it off... hard to not react and give it away. 😂

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I couldn't be more thrilled with how we are starting the season. But forgive me for not wanting Owen Miller taking starts from Turang. Imagine if Bryce Harper was platooned on arrival in the majors. It's just stupid, it's a loser decision from a loser manager. These guys aren't going to get better against lefties unless they face lefties, and both were plenty good against lefties in the minors so there's really no good reason to protect them from lefties...especially Turang who had slightly better numbers against LHP than RHP in the minors.

I manage a team of young professionals who are all mid-early 20's, first to third job out of undergrad.  One of the very important things for leading people with little professional experience is to set them up for success and give them confidence.  Sometimes that involves avoiding putting them in difficult positions initially.  Throwing them to the wolves right away can sink their confidence, and once that is gone, it takes a long time to get it back.

Nothing like hearing Uecker call a walk off home run

After the walkoff call, when Bob was reading the list of radio network sponsors, he casually dropped in "Garrett Mitchell" among the Usinger's and Cedar Crest and West Bend The Silver Lining. 😄

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I’ve been busy working … missed the game but just watched highlights

What are the clubhouse issues with the Cardinals?

I hope they implode 🤓

the only thing bad about this sweep was that i live in NY and had to listen to the mets broadcast.

The team off to great start and that with Burnes pitching horrible. Latest FA adds have done well as with Jesse and the rookies. the pen have been pretty lights out.
