The Dodgers can afford to empty the bullpen today because they can count on 7 or 8 shutout innings from Kershaw tomorrow.

I think early season reports of the Dodgers demise may have been greatly exaggerated. They have looked pretty strong recently. 
 

They aren’t likely to win 110 games, but I expect them to make the playoffs with room to spare.

Not exactly.  While Winker hasn't hit for power yet he still has a very respectable OBP.

but it sounds like winker is not impressing anybody lately.     He’s been the whipping boy.     Does he look that bad

It doesn’t matter that his OBP is; he’s the regular DH with a sub .650 OPS. The leash should be  getting shorter
