Looking at stats v Kershaw it's quite funny. Adames has one hit in 10 AB's, no one else has...

 

Except for Yelich who's 9-19 with 2 home runs

but TELLEZ canT get any hits off any lefties - and Voit is right handed so HE MUST be able to HIT lefties better just like Keston did last yEAR!

If Voit isn't starting against lefties, he shouldn't be on the roster.*

Looking just quickly on BR, Voit for his career is better against RHP than LHP.  I'm not sure I'm clear on the roster construction with Voit.

Counsell? Look at his options and look at what he was given new this year. Contreras has a .766 OPS, after that the highest OPS of a new Brewer is Owen Miller at .667. Tell the front office to not be incompetent building a roster. Counsell can only trot out like four .700+ OPS guys on any given night.

I feel bad for Counsell...no matter who he puts in the line-up their performance this year is total rubbish.

Yeah, he has medium-sized reverse splits. I wasn't a big fan of the Voit signing in the first place so I can't say I'm surprised by the failure here.

The Brewers needed a lefty masher. Voit isn't that. He's fine against lefties, nothing more. The Brewers already had a bunch of guys who can hit righties.

Which is why I advocated for picking up Kyle Garlick on waivers when the Twins released him but that's water under the bridge. He fills the lefty-mashing role for the league minimum.

Wiemer is actually very good against lefties but batting 9th. Counsell is just playing who he has. Voit stinks against lefties, he isn't fine, so how about the GM get rid of him and acquire a 1B that can.

This is the kind of game where you just hope that common wisdom doesn’t prevail. 
 

Common wisdom would dictate that a Brewers team that struggles against any lefty will really have problems with one of the best LHP in the game.

Voit vs LHPs is worse than Ben Sheets at the plate for his career.  Is there a RH Catcher who can play 1b out there? I'd rather they carry a PH 3rd catcher over carrying the platoon 1b with Voit's incapable bat it seems this season.

Edit add- Tellez has a higher OPS vs LH pitching than Voit. CC made this lineup worse by using Brosseau at DH and using Voit at 1B. Just bat Tellez at DH and Brosseau at 1b if you're looking to give him a day off. Voit should just be DFA already. He's brought 0 power and LH Pitching protection at the plate.

Darin Ruf is a FA currently. Would rather have him than Voit despite Ruf probably being washed.
