Yeah. Something is clearly wrong with Winker. Suffice to say, he hasn't recovered from neck surgery. Did they rush him back too soon or is he simply done at the age of 29? Should get the answer to this question by what they do with him after this IL stint and whether he can show any semblance of power on rehab.

Ready to see what Toro can bring. An offensive breakout like Owen Miller would be nice. The positional versatility over Winker will also be much appreciated.

Bummed it’s not Singleton but thankful that I get some time off from watching Jesse Winker play baseball for the Brewers. With any luck we’ve seen his last AB as a Brewer.

Endless injuries. Are we winning the most guys on injury list this year? Anywhere t look for this?

I'm pretty sure there's a resource out there that does this - I've seen them in the past - but damned if I can find it anywhere right now.

Anyone?

Winker might very well be done, and if so I' feel kind of bad mostly because if your 29 and have that big of an issue with your neck already that is not an exciting future prospect.

Counting his signing bonus from the draft in 2012, Winker has made roughly $20M playing baseball over the past 10 years and his neck condition was minor enough where he still plays baseball at the highest level.  By almost every perspective that's a pretty damn good career even if he has to retire immediately.  Sure, it's sucks for him if the neck issue is what prevents him from a longer MLB career, but it's also not like he's in a wheel chair or unable to play with his daughter.  Winker himself would likely be among the first to say as much, too.

Toro appears to be the best player in the Wong-Winker trade. His 0.0 bWAR is looking pretty good compared with the combined -1.8 bWAR generated by Wong and Winker.

When a player has cervical surgery and later goes on the IL with a "neck strain." Yeah, that's not good. Like Prince Fielder not good.

Think you are right unfortunately. It is only the 10 day IL but looking more and more like these injuries may be too much to overcome for Winker.

Damn, that's a bomb. 107.2 mph is a big step up from how he was going

He also hit a 102 mph single in his next AB, followed by a walk, flyout, and another 103 mph single

3 big exit velocities

I'm not ready for Winker (even though I suspect y'all are correct, and he'll be back soon). Singleton has suffered with a lot of bad luck. It's only been 28 plate appearances, but he's had .176 BABIP and it seems like every borderline ball/strike has been called a strike (the zone last night was something else). Winker's start with the Brewers has scarred me.

With that said, their games are nearly identical, except for their position.
