I love to live my life by principles

I know better than to invest my time in activities, events, & relationships that constantly produce aggravation & frustration … with very little enjoyment

In spite of that knowledge - I consistently watch this team … probably 150+ games per year … & I experience quite a bit of disappointment

So … to all the counselors on the board - How do you stop loving a team after 50+ years?

You don't.  I never will and have passed that on to my kids and they live and die with it too, but only until the game is over.  Then they, and I, move on to the other things in my life that I enjoy and have far more control over.  Sports are fun but the moment it affects my quality of life to ANY degree, I'll walk away and do something else.  Life is too short to get that wrapped up in something I have no control of.

I guess CC thought they didn't have a big enough deficit to overcome to explain why Strz is still in the game.

Counsell.  Is.  Not.  Managing.  Today.

CC is not managing today

CC not in the game today. At his kid's graduation

Oh ok, I didn't know that. I'm just following along on mlb.com since I no longer want to pay to watch this atrocity.

Imagine the Nashville Sounds coming into AmFam and not only winning a game, but sweeping the Brewers.

That's what happened here.

And starting tomorrow Oakland will go back to playing .200 ball.

The Brewers have been around for 53 years, most of it being losing baseball and some of that pretty humbling and embarrassing. These past three days will go down as the most humiliating period of Brewers baseball.

Not sure I would go quite that far and I am as big a Debbie downer as there is.

That 5 game sweep by Pittsburgh a couple of years back was pretty horrid as well.

And somehow this team would still be in the playoffs as of now. Expanded playoffs and NL mediocrity to the rescue. I would still be a hard seller at the deadline.

Three days ago Oakland was on pace to go 35-127 this year, the second worst record in the modern era. That Pirates team would still wipe the field with the A's.

Milwaukee is depending on far too many AAA players to win ML games

Singleton, Monasterio, Perkins … not gonna get it done at this level

The bizarre thing is that Perkins and Monasterio produced two of the biggest hits the Brewers had in two of their wins over the Reds. It’s the players who were supposed to lead  the team that are letting them down the most.

Too little; too late.

Swept.    At HOME.   By the worst team in baseball.

Ain't no bright side here. How pathetic; how embarrassing.  Nothing but SHAME.

Time for a gut check in the clubhouse.

Maybe time for a gut check on the board as well.  I'm PO'd, truly, but when I screwup this dinner I'm cooking tonight, the game won't matter as much. Bye for now! See you next time.

No it's worse than that.  If the A's were in AAA they likely would be one of the worst teams in all of AAA.

The Braves lose 2 out of 3 in Oakland and they are so upset that they have a team meeting and come out winning again.

The Brewers get swept by the A’s at home (adding to their increasing list of dismal series) and the reaction is that “all teams go through rough patches”.

Not all teams are at or near the bottom of virtually every offensive statistic.

At least we held a lead for an inning and a half this weekend.

Moral victories. When you're facing Rickey, the Bash Brothers, Dave Stewart, Eck & Co., we'll take all the moral victories we can get. Especially with Molitor and Higuera out with injuries.

This series goes right along with the 5-game sweep at Pittsburgh going into the All-Star Break a few years ago.  I believe that may have been a year where we actually made the postseason though (maybe even 2018!)

Omg… I just got done comparing this to that putrid 5-game sweep against Pittsburgh as well.

Maybe.  But we have many others to choose from.  Perhaps Suppan in the 2011 playoffs was total humiliation.
