No clue, I just thought it funny that that was the first post they made in a 12 page thread about a player and you immediately welcomed them 🤣

Hiura 2-4, HR 3RBI

.304, .953 OPS

Black at 3B, Hiura at 1B

Call these guys up and they could be the 4th and 5th best bats in the order…

Who do we send down to make room? Is it bad that Santana and Canha might be some of our weaker bats? I realize it has only been a week.

I suppose Perkins can be sent down.

If Canha isn't providing any offense he can be DFA'd....he's played basically everyday since the trade and while hitting into some bad luck, he hasn't been good enough to wait on better luck showing up for him at the plate.

Also, Wiemer could be optioned down a few weeks before being brought back up as a defensive replacement/platoon bat against LHP for September roster expansion.  Then again, that probably just throws Tyrone Taylor in the lineup instead of moving Frelick to centerfield.

Does Adames still have a minor league option?   I'm not even kidding - that may be the only way to get him out of the middle of the order.

If the team needs a 40 man spot for someone like Hiura or Black, there are plenty of options currently on the roster (including short term IL players) to make room.

Santana is fine at 1st, because he doesn't need a platoon mate and plays good defense there.  He hasn't set the world on fire since coming to the Brewers, but he has shown some pop.

I completely agree. We have a large enough sample size of the present offense to know they aren't good. We also have to give Adames time off or move him to 9th in the order and hope that will take some pressure off of him.

Fangraphs says Adames does have one last option. He also has less than 5 years of service time so he is optionable.

I hope you guys realize there is next to no chance Adames gets sent down to AAA. He is still playing above average defense and even though he's been in basically a season long slump at the plate the dreaded "intangibles", that most fans hate, will prevent a demotion IMO

I agree, but it's time for him to spend more time as a late-inning replacement. He's not helping us right now.

He actually has over 5 years of service so not going to happen.

That would be a bold move … I’m for it … a wake up call to a dreadful offense - play acceptable baseball or else

Bummer … not that anyone in the Brewers FO was capable of optioning Adames - but disappointing news nonetheless

My AAA call up options in order:
Toro / Black / Hiura

Not sure who to send down (or DFA):

Taylor / Perkins / Anderson

Not excited about Tellez or Winker returning to the roster - I hope neither one is activated

I could see Tyler Black coming up for September with a Winker DFA. I kind of hope they simply release Hiura; so the dream can “officially” be over. Though I guess the Brewers are doing him a solid giving him ABs in AAA to keep him game shape in case somebody needs a late season body in the majors

Anybody honestly think he’s NOT going to wind up as an NRI for another team in 24?

Hiura just needs to be released or traded in the offseason so everybody can move on with their lives.

But then, what would we have to debate about? 😉

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

"Hiura has a .984 OPS for [insert his new team's AAA club here]"
