I really don't like the rule where a hitter can still reach first after striking out if the catcher doesn't throw him out like what happened in the bottom of the 8th.

Should've bet my house on the 'over' for Burnes K's today

Lol. I know what you mean.

If you had, you'd have been REAL nervous in the 7th inning, though.

Uribe is throwing.

That could be dangerous given that it would be his first MLB appearance with a lead. If he runs into trouble the tying run could be at the plate before you can get him out.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I’m kinda shocked Sheets only had 15 double-digit strikeout games.  Seems like he did it every time I went to see him live.

I feel like in the games Sheeter got to double digits, he was in the teens often and not just scraping by with 10 punchouts

Seems like he spent quite a bit of time on the IR.

I don't see who else you would throw there. Wilson, maybe, but CC probably wants him in case he has to cover for a short start against the Braves this weekend.

Dillard mentioned on the broadcast how many pitches Turang has been seeing lately...I think that's a good observation. He's had much better ABs.

He really doesn't have to do much with the bat to be a valuable player.

I'm thinking it's a good thing Iglesias had to come in and save it for the Braves today.

walk three batters, K three batters. Easy peasey.

Yeah. I think that's one of the antiquated baseball rules that could easily be ditched. I see the argument for it; that the catcher should be able to catch a strike and hold possession. But it also rewards the hitter for striking out and can lead to stuff like swinging at pitches that are way out of the zone to get on-base.

I like seeing Uribe getting as much experience as he can get at his level so long as he's performing well. He'll help us a lot when it gets exciting at the end of the season.

If we don't trust him to pitch in a game with a 4 run lead, he shouldn't be on the roster.

That was indeed the rub

Probably caused alot by all those double digit K games in pretty short order, lol

Sheets spent zero time on the IR...now the DL on the other hand...

that's why I'm not a betting man!

It's uncanny how good the O/U numbers are the vast majority of the time. I like that prop a lot during Brewer games, and, if the O/U is 5.5 Ks, it's amazing how often the dude ends up with 5 or 6. Really hard to get any kind of edge against the computers.

Long-run, it's good for Uribe to get some moderate-leverage innings under his belt. Now's a good time when you figure, more than likely, even if Williams has to come in, you've still rested 2 of your 3 big BP arms.

And....dude has some nasty, nasty stuff....wow.

Wasn’t necessarily suggesting anyone else. It’s just that you have to be a little concerned about him, being wild, trying to protect the lead.
