Well, the Dodgers. While this isn't technically must-win, it's kinda must-win. The Crew has been shelled two nights in a row and for the third game they have Burnes on the mound against the eminently crushable and renown jerk, Lance Lynn. Beat the hell out of him, please.

By the way, what the hell is with this 9pm start on a getaway day? Dick move, Dodgers. Dick move.

Of course he has been, that rat bastard.

(I have an immense dislike of Lynn who was both terrible and a whiny, miserable SOB in his short stint with the Twins)

Shelled? Last night was a miserable death by a thousand cuts. Cannot remember the last time I saw a ground ball up the middle go for a double (Freeman). I think Turang gets to that ball, Monasterio didn't. Smith gets two hits on balls that didn't travel 100 feet combined. Two catcher interference plays. If Frelick's bunt stays fair, bases are loaded with one out (I know, I know). Then Frelick scorches a ball to Freeman. Did the same thing the next at bat and it turned into a double play. What a frustrating night. The Dodgers are a much better team, they don't need better luck as well.

It seems like one or two things and the game slips away. In the first game, if Monasterio doesn't make that error, is it a much different game?

Would have been nice to watch one of these games, but no gotta have 3 night games.  Maybe I'll be happy if it goes the same as the past 2

I meant shelled as in the score, not really how they got there. It wasn't a competitive game, the Brewers were stymied while the Dodgers just kept scoring a run here, a run there.

Fine with me, the reality is he is not good, regression will hit hard just like the Brewers offense tonight.

Looking at statcast data, the biggest change he's made appears to be pitch selection. He previously mixed his 4 seam, cutter, and sinker quite a bit. The cutter and sinker were regularly shelled while the 4 seam had been more effective. He went from throwing a 4 seam 37% of the time in July to 55% in August so far. So basically the Brewers should get ready for a steady diet of belt to shoulders fastballs...and hopefully they can hit em.

So they are making us play at 9pm and then fly to Texas and play tomorrow.   Give me a break

if we can somehow win this game we only last a half game to the rivals so far this week. That’s not too bad

Total crap move for the Dodgers to schedule this as a night game. We should schedule next year's getaway day at Am Fam as a night game if we remain at home following the series.

Part of me really misses the days when the opposition would b**** about stuff like this. But no, we have Counsell sending Champagne to Roberts before the '18 NLCS.

It's weak sauce to complain about luck, especially when you don't play well enough to make it matter. But yeah, how LA got from 1-1 to 4-1 yesterday was pretty ridiculous. Still, I hang my hat on the adage that's it's how you play, not who. Monasterio, Turang, Wiemer-----they all botched plays that ranged from routine to plays you've made plenty of times before. Yeah, we didn't generate offense anyway. But that's why it's important to keep them from going up 3-4 runs. We didn't do that.

But I'll admit it wouldn't hurt to send a proctologist to the LA clubhouse before the game to have the rabbits' foot removed from their a**.

This is one of those games where our ACE has to do his job.

He just has to bring it tonight, no ifs, ands or buts.

I doubt the Dodgers made this schedule.

It is a MLB Network game tonight so scheduling time is from MLB and not the Dodgers.  The Mariners @ Royals are already scheduled for the afternoon game and the two evening games on MLB Network are Brewers @ Dodgers or Dbacks @ Padres.

We still have to score even if he pitches great.   That’s the problem

We MUST play mistake free games against teams like this.  We can't give them extra swings or let them get on base with catcher's interference or fielding errors.  We don't have that luxury.

The home team sets all game times.  I'm sure they can be persuaded by TV or other influences, but ultimately it is up to them.

They changed Wiemer's drop (which is what it was) to an error and made the runs unearned for Uribe. Nice to see, considering he should have been out of that inning right then and there.

For as rough as our collective hitting has been all year last night was a game that felt like we did much better for 1 run.  Let's hope those breaks go our way tonight
