That Rodgers jersey looks like a Bears jersey but I think it is an alternate Packers one.  Otherwise I would say nice troll by that person!

Good catch. never noticed.

Beautiful night in a pretty cool place.

I thought the Brewers were supposed to be non competitive this series?

Easy to say that now , but you have to admit the the Dodgers series we looked terrible!

Should be called.. The Bi-polar Brewers.

I thought they would have another good game today. Could be different against Scherzer tomorrow but it was nice to face a couple of the Rangers weaker pitchers to start the series.

What's the old saying........."You're never as good as you think you are after you win, and never as bad as you think you are after reading an IGT".

Sorry if this is redundant, but--

I've seen things that suggest Peralta growing up before our very eyes. Going through that 40-pitch 3rd inning, against that team, and only giving up one run might be the biggest piece of evidence yet.

My goodness did Semien look lost in his AB vs Uribe. And that's a really good hitter.

They didn't come in clutch situations, but two real nice ABs by Wiemer.

The rest is pretty obvious. Just a real nice Milwaukee Brewers baseball game. Given the opponent, maybe one of the best 3-4 of the year?

Much prefer Megill to Mejia

Megill is sort of a perfect guy to have in these scenarios because he doesn't walk many & throws 100. With Chafin he's never been the type of pitcher to just lay the ball in there, he has to make pitches. So he works with a 5-run lead the same way as if it were 1-2 runs. Which makes him a bad choice if he doesn't come out locating.

I would love to think that Adames has snapped out of his funk and will be productive for awhile. But, because he’s had a couple of two day “hot streaks” before this season I’ll hold off before getting too excited.

I think with him it's all about the fine line between driving balls out over the plate to RF, and laying off the balls OFF the plate outside. He does this for awhile, which leads to getting balls to pull, which leads to a nice 5-10 days or whatever. Then it disappears.

Stay tuned, I guess.

We did look terrible. But isn't the "Easy to say that now" just as applicable when they run into a bad stretch & the "This is a bad team" comments roll out? It's a marathon.

For sure , but its pretty easy to say a comment like that after the fact is all I was saying. This season has absolutely been a roller coaster with more ups than downs. LA was not good , and Texas was looking a lot like the Dodgers.  With this team you just don't what your going to get.

Too many things -good and bad- going on in my house to savor the win. But I did get to hear most of  it while portraying an orca in the little pool with my 5yo grandson.  Let's just say I was the cheeriest orca you ever saw!

Think: We have never at any time this season (so far) been described by the baseball media know-it-alls as a "hot" team. And yet....

(Hare, meet tortoise.)

I was there last night. I didn't see too many Rodgers jerseys there. There may have been more Brady #12s.

The Brewers actually were referred to as “hot” when they won 6 in a row after losing the opener, including scoring a ton of runs sweeping the Mets, who people expected to be good. They were still described as getting off to a hot start when they moved their record  to 14-5.

They haven’t been described as “hot” by the media since then because they haven’t been what anyone would consider “hot”. They have essentially played .500 ball for 4 months while never winning more than 4 in a row.

In their division they aren’t racing against any hares. Just a few other tortoises that have gone at a somewhat less consistent pace but are closer now than they have been at some other points during the season.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

They’ve played one game over .500 since the 14-5 start, but it’s been split into two pretty distinctive sections…

4/21 to 6/14: 20-29 (79 wRC+)
(bookended by six game losing streaks)

6/16 to 8/19: 33-23 (91 wRC+)
(5th most wins in MLB over last two plus months)

Maybe not scorching hot, but they’ve been much more capable of late than IGTs might imply.

You can slice and dice these last 4 months any number of ways, but the net result is basically, one step forward, one step back, two steps forward, two steps back.

You chose to draw a line at June 15 and point out that the Brewers are 33-23 since that date. Someone could also say that those 56 games have two distinct sections. In the first section ending July 26 when they finished their season series against the Reds, the Brewers were 23-12, highlighted by going 7-2 against the Reds. Since then they have gone 10-11, so definitely not hot.

Yeah, well.  I was just trying to say that the Brewers have not got a lot of gushing like, say. the Elly DLC  Reds (e.g.) have gotten.

I AM INDEED trying to say that "slow and steady wins the race," as some Greek guy said some time ago.  Cheers!

Been watching replays all weekend of him scoring when the Jays threw the ball away. You'd think the guy took a flying leap & landed on the moon.
