Possibly bad take: I blame a lot of that on Bauers getting horrible read on Ortiz's base hit. But maybe I'm just looking for reasons to lose the guy 😄.

Wheeler is a great pitcher because of innings like that. Just gotta keep at it. This is going to be a tough series, and I'd take 1 and get out of town if you offered it to me yesterday.

Bryse needs to get in better shape imo. It can't be easy to be at your best when you are carrying a bit extra.

Wilson is fat - needs to drop 40 lbs easy

Yeah, he should have definitely scored there.

That stuff happens.  Turang has to have a better at bat there.

Two things can be true. Bauers has to know where the defense is positioned and take advantage.

I thought it was a pretty good AB, honestly. It's just where the contact approach hurts you. On a pitch there, you'd just as soon K in that situation.

Phillies pen had to work A LOT yesterday, so keeping contact matters a lot tonight. Even if they can't complete the comeback.

BTW, when was the last time we scored first? Feels like it's been a while. Or, wait, we took a 1-0 lead in the first game of the Sox series? Anyway, just feels like we've been playing from behind a lot.

It's reasonable. I thought he scores on that if he gets a good read. He clearly had no clue how the defense was positioned in the infield so he turn back to 2B.

Yeah you are right. I'm guessing Brewers have discussed this with him. Definitely heavier than he was last year.

Seemed anxious to me with a struggling pitcher.
