I'm personally not seeing much that would lead a team to claim him if they didn't the first time around. And even then, I'd be fine with Mejia as backup to Contreras and Sanchez.

Yea I can't say for sure.  But we're talking like he's been trash while he's sitting with an over 1000 OPS and raked all year in AAA too.  He's basically performed almost every time he was given a start, he's just not being allowed to play right now. Which of course can break your rhythm.   I of course don't know what other contenders need Cs or who would take him, but I'm sure there's several catchers on ML rosters performing worse than him. but does a bad team bother, who knows

Wow. Ozuna just got under that one. Otherwise that was going to be gone.

Yeah Payamps is very fortunate because that was a mistake pitch

Mejia has an 85 wRC+ as a bat first catcher in AAA. He’s thrown out 6 of 46 attempted base stealers.

Haase was at a 123 wRC+ and threw out 5 of 21 attempted base stealers in Nashville.

I'm not saying Haase isn't a superior option to Mejia. I'm just saying that doesn't justify having to stash him on the active roster over the next few weeks of critical games. Especially when it's questionable whether he'd actually be claimed by another team.

Less than 50 games remaining in the season

Brewers have not lost ground in the NLC division after playing slightly over .500 baseball for 40ish games. … 1/4 of the season

That’s amazing & we’re fortunate

Well the 2nd place team in the Central is slightly over .500, so this checks out. ;)

Yeah.  The rest of the division was doing is a solid while we were scuffling.   Let’s hope we can go on a run here

Golden sombrero for Contreras

The hole in his swing is eight feet off the inside corner.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

I'm shocked Solar stayed in the game. He had reason to be mad about today's calls.
