I'm shocked Solar stayed in the game. He had reason to be mad about today's calls.

I don't think I could have bit my tongue on that one.

If I had to pick out one positive from the last two days, it would be that Atlanta appears to be the site of the Welcome Back Joey Ortiz party. Also on the list is Perkins, of course. If anyone wanted to bet me that he'd have three hits from the right side in a game I'd have lost a lot of coin. Nice quiet approach, too, spraying the ball all over.

So odd to watch Contreras & Adames look bad, put up monster numbers, then look bad again within a three game period. William, you were pasting balls to the right side all night on Tuesday. You go from doing that, to chasing stuff well off the plate INSIDE? Just weird. And no Vinny, Adames swinging 3-0 was NOT a good idea.

All great ABs aren't base hits. Terrific job by Monasterio helping to move the line.

When they face a LHP, the way the roster is constructed you pretty much have to play either Mitchell or Frelick. In that event it should always be Frelick, at least right now. Mitchell looking totally lost at the plate vs Sale was easily predictable.

Baby steps for Peralta. I thought, even in the two run first, that his sequencing, pitch selection, command & location were much better. Pitch selection on the Riley HR, ummmm, no.

Payamps looked good. Mears looked great.

Don't look now but Perkins wRC+ vs LHP this year coming into tonight was 109. He always hit LHP well in the minors (was naturally a RHH and became a switch hitter after being drafted out of HS). The real issue with Perkins appears to be he can't hit at AmFam. In his career he's 130 wRC+ on the road and 56 at home with an xwOBA 60 points better on the road. This is a sample that is probably getting big enough to take note of. Seems like he just struggles at AmFam for whatever reason.

I knew he's had better success lately vs LHP but I never would've guessed that.

Ortiz was at 99 vs LHP coming into tonight after being around 40 like 2 months ago. Chourio was at 85. Feel like splits vs LHP can change so fast because you don't face a lot of LHP. Like one or two good games against LHP and you go from wow this guy can't hit LHP to wow he's basically league average vs LHP

Just noticed Chourio untucks his jersey after every win. He keeps that up and he's liable to getting beaned in our next series in St. Louis.

It never crossed my mind that it was showing someone up when it is a 88 degree humid evening in Atlanta.

I keep seeing numerous posts with the spelling of Chourio as Churio.  Is there a reason behind this? He's nearing the top batting average on team sans Yelich. Would think spelling his name right is deserved by now vs when he was batting .210.

Noted. It's usually a function of voice to text not translating correctly.

I watched the Braves broadcast tonight and it was quite entertaining with Chipper, Glavine, Smoltz, and Francoeur. No professional broadcaster, just 4 ballplayers talking about the game and messing with each other. It kind of reminded me of Inside the NBA, with Smoltz playing the part of Kenny Smith

There are posters here who can’t spell some players names right that have been on the team multiple years. This is nothing new.

Sale on the Brewers

“That’s baseball, you’ve got to deal with those things,” said Sale, who had 10 strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings and was charged with nine hits and three runs, two of which were earned and another that could’ve been prevented. “They just found a way to keep putting the ball in play, and it was finding holes. They’re relentless. They’re a good squad, they know what they’re doing.”

Listening to the Braves broadcast and they interviewed their manager (prior to his ejection) and he had good things to say about the Brewers always being a competitive team.
