I’m sorry.   But this playoff format sucks.    There is no other way to put it

the brewers are not going to get any credit for the work they’ve done all season.    2 out of 3 against some wild card team is garbage.

They will if they grab one of the top two NL spots! Only 0.5 games back of the Dodgers and 2 games back of the Phillies. Let's go!

I'm listening to Chicago Sports radio and the Cubs are saying, "this is our chance to make a run now."

"Playing the: Blue Jays, Tigers, Marlins, Pirates, Washington, and Pirates again all in a row."

An 18 game streatch that started this past Friday, all losing record teams.

UP NEXT

Brewers RHP Colin Rea (10-4, 3.72 ERA) faces RHP Ben Lively (10-7, 3.71) in the series finale Sunday.

Do the Brewers want to see if Black can hit or not? When you have a 10 game lead you have that luxury. Put him in there for a week and see if he can bring something to the table.

I like Murphy giving Contreras another day off behind the plate……with the off day tomorrow that will be a nice 3 day break after 5 days in a row catching.

It is a great opportunity for them…absolutely.
For as good of a schedule that the Cubs have, it’s the opposite for the Cardinals- Brewers, Twins, Padres, Yankees, Brewers….and the Dodgers today.

Brewers had one of the toughest schedule stretches of the year and so far are:

3-0 vs ATL

2-1 vs CIN

2-2 vs LA

2-0 vs CLE

9-3 so far. Schedule gets a bit easier after this series and there’s one more tough stretch in mid September where they face:

ARI-PHI-ARI

Aren’t the Brewers just half a game out of a bye?

Technically 1.5 because the Dodgers have the tiebreaker over us but both the Phillies and Dodgers are within striking distance.

Yes, as of right now they have to end up with a better record then the Dodgers unless the Phillys go on a skid.

No you were also right because you said they have to end up with a better record than the Dodgers. Technically the Phillies don't have the tiebreaker over us but they just need to win 1 of 3 in September against us to get it because they swept us earlier this year.

The Phillies series should be viewed as an opportunity. I’m glad we have more games against them both as a chance to make up ground and a litmus test how we stack up against one of our main competitors.

It seems to be the Brewer way to be unable to advance the runner with less than two outs, then get the big two out hit to score the run the hard way.
