Just what we love to see, another lefty starter. We have seen 9 of the top 10 lefty starters by fWAR, only missing Gore because we haven’t played the Nats yet. After today we’ll have faced 7 of the next 10 as well

If Hall is official a tandem starter then you are basically one short in the pen which is a problem to me. Just bring Henderson back let him take the starts and get Hall in the pen to soak up some innings.

It’s only a problem if they don’t get enough innings out of their bulk pitchers, which would be a problem either way

Does it matter if he is soaking up innings to start the game versus soaking up innings at any other part of the game?

Not if Hall and one or two other pitchers can get through the game. I wish they would do this with Ashby too.

Ashby seems to be in Murphy's doghouse for whatever reason. He's been used 2 times in 11 games and hasn't pitched in a week.

That's because there both hurt all the time.  Its got to be hard to run a team when your injured every single year throughout your whole career.

Not very optimistic about this one.

Yeah, and a lineup with Monasterio, Cameron, Hasse all in (and the usual Ortiz situation) doesn't inspire confidence against a guy who threw 7 innings of one-hit ball at the Cubs last time out.

But, it's baseball...

If I was an MLB manager filling out my lineup card, my first thought would definitely be “how can I get Andruw Monasterio the most ABs possible?”

My assumption is he needs more days off if he's pitching in this format. I guess it's possible that is not the case but who knows how Murphy is going to run this.

Why is Ortiz in and Durbin out today? I hope it's not due to defense. It wouldn't hurt for Turang to play a game or two at short.

I think its just a second string game today. As Mona drives in a run.

Murphy knows what he's doing!
