Finally! Good for him. Deserved.

I hope this means Contreras to the 10 day IL. Realistically, probably Mona back down. I'm guessing Mitchell moves to the 60 day with the recent injury news

If this promotion occurs its likely the result of Seigler successfully abandoning switch hitting and going strictly lefty. He could fit into a platoon with Durbin.

Durbin hitting slightly better than Contreras. Let Contreras's hand heal.

The interesting thing about this is, time wise, by missing 12 games they could give someone 18 days off due to the ASB. Not too bad, but we'll see how they play it.

I'd say its far more likely that Monasterio is sent down at this point given his lack of utility off the bench, he's barely been used and mostly as a PR for Hoskins.

I'm excited for the kid. Being a 1st round pick to then being an outcast ... there has to be a little doubt that sets in at some point. Hopefully this is the first step to something fun for him.

Also, he should be able to save the bullpen a bunch of innings if and when the time comes. Brooks Kieschnick is wiping away tears right now...

I don't know a lot about the Contreras finger injury but I read it could be from last season. Which would make me think that a few weeks of rest won't do much. May need surgery and a few months to squash it long term. Reducing his games at catcher on a weekly basis could help.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

They often do the optioning on the off day if someone is going down, which makes the player eligible to come back up a day earlier and that hasn't happened yet.  So that could feed into speculation that it's an IL placement or they're good with Bauers/Yelich as backup outfielders until Perkins is ready and it's a Cameron DFA.  Suppose we'll all find out tomorrow.

But it is not speculation about Contreras's finger/hand injury. Also, it is not speculation that Contreras is only in there for defensive purposes at this point since he has dropped below Eric Hasse batting avg.  My biggest gripe has always been with Murphy is that he gives preferential treatment to a hand full of certain individuals on the Brewers and Contreras is one of them. On the other hand the pitchers are used to Contreras catching so we can pick our poison.  Comparison: https://www.mlb.com/player/eric-haase-606992

I am also all for bringing up Seigler and giving Contreras a month off for treatment.

Just let it be Seigler / Hasse for a month and let his finger heal. No better time than the all-star break to get started on that.

what's wrong with Robby Z?

Rib stress reaction. Doing a quick google search, it might be a pretty lengthy absence.

yuck. that doesn't sound good. I don't remember him reacting in game to anything. is it something that develops over time and becomes unbearable?

I don't know why but a rib injury reminds me of deer hunting lol

So who goes when Perkins returns in a few days?

Thought it would be Cameron but he’s already gone.

Probably AM assuming they are ok with Turang being the back up SS

The injury update on brewers.com shows that he's expected to resume throwing sometime next week, so it must not be too severe.
