Look at it on the bright side…….makes it more difficult to finish in the top 2 of the ROY vote…….which would definitely benefit the Crew.

This is my conspiracy as well. Miz seemed a little upset in the interview. Was probably on his mind.

I hope pat had some pocket lunchables waiting for him when he got out of the mini van

I don’t think he was pissed for that reason……I just think he believes he can push through stuff and he loves to pitch……obviously none of us can know but I doubt he was thinking about ROY …….

If he wasn’t hurt they would have pitched him today( evidenced by the last minute decision to recall Henderson without any plan to even be able to fly him in).

Hopefully Collins starts getting the recognition he deserves as a ROY candidate……he certainly has earned it.

Yeah they probably figured this would be a good time to skip a start against a bad team and let someone else throw.  I think we all knew something like this was coming in order to limit his innings.

I actually said to my Dad he'll start through the Cubs series and he'll go on the IL with a Calf Strain or something. They won't say it's his arm or oblique because they won't want to scare people, but... something to just let him rest and get him ready for the stretch.

BUT... he did take a good shot off the leg. If he's limping or something... that could impact everything. So maybe this is legit. Still hyper-cautious, but an actual bruised and sore leg?

Either way, when people were "fine" with giving up Henderson for 2 months of Suarez... the few that were, how many other teams have the luxury of bringing up a guy like Henderson to fill in?

Also, selfishly, I wouldn't be bothered if a couple other NL rookies REALLY start just getting hot and Mis slides down the ROY list!

LOL...it really does. The Henderson's dropping Logan off in front of the guys!

Momma Henderson- "Good lucky Honey! Love you! And make sure you tuck in your jersey!"

Logan-"GAWD....stop it Mom, you're embarrassing me in front of Christian and Brandon! And get me some Ranch Sunflower Seeds before the game....I HATE those stupid plain ones."

Papa Henderson- "Hey, don't talk to your Mother like that! Your Uniform would still be dirty if not for her."

The only part that puzzled me is why the designation was retroactive to 7/31 when the injury happened 7/28.  Though 14 days past the 31st does line up with when they'd probably most want him back.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

You can only backdate 3 days.

If he's not 100% he shouldn't pitch.  The last thing we need is him over-compensating for something that doesn't feel right and subsequently hurting his arm.

I guess. I always assumed that MLB knows what’s going on in situations like this IL stint too but never really seems to do anything about it.

Because it is in the MLB's best interest to have the stars stay healthy.

It's really kinda silly that Misi is the favorite at the moment.

Or even runner up. Collins and Durbin should both easily clear him...at the moment. Baldwin should be the obvious favorite.

I'd say the Brewers vote will split the field, but... it's like Durbin, Collins, Patrick, Logan Henderson may end up in the conversation. He's been as good as Misiorowski for conventional ROY criteria.

Just being SUPER talented shouldn't win you the award.

You had a guy last year who was 15-3 with a 2.91 ERA and he barely got any votes. Chourio puts up a 4WAR season and he doesn't get 1 first place vote. A rookie pitcher starts 7 games, throws really hard(and he's...really good) and he's gonna win it? And of course it'll only cost us, we won't get a pick. It feels like it shouldn't really matter. If you have a guy finish top 2... you get a pick.

I guess all I can hope is that they ramp up the contract extension talks and... it cost us more down the line, but we still sign him for 8 years.

I think with this pitcher development, his mentality and eagerness to learn and he's pretty fiery, they're goin to improve the command and he's going to be damn near unhittable.

I think Miz became the favorite because of how lukewarm the rest of the NL Rookie class is for a clearcut frontrunner this season around the AS break - All but certain he won't have enough MLB innings to wind up actually winning the award, and honestly Collins or Durbin would be more deserving if they continue playing to the level he's been at for months now.

The fact the Brewers appear to have cornered the rookie of the year market in the NL is incredible.

I don't believe this "injury" was ever bad enough to sideline Miz.  I think it comes down to the perfect opportunity to limit his innings, while giving him a rest.

I think you’re mistaken…………if this was the plan Henderson would have been up a few days before…..he got the news the night before when he was preparing for his triple A start.

That’s not what you do if you planned to give Miz a break all along.

Of course it's partially because of the rookie class around him... if you had Paul Skenes, Jackson Merrill and Jackson Chourio(or Imanaga...and hell, even Ortiz had 3.1 WAR last year).

But even in spite of a down class, as of right now, he should not be in the running. He should be 3rd or 4th on the team.

He's obviously the most exciting, talented and , but that's not the criteria.

This is obviously selfish. He seems like a great dude and I'm rooting for him to make about 30M less(or more if he career continues along anything close to this trajectory)... but I'm a Brewers fan first and...I want to see 6 more years of Mis in Milwaukee(At least).

Don't look now, but Henderson has outpitched Misiorowski in MLB.  OK, they are very close with the same Fangraphs WAR with Henderson in fewer innings. Of course neither are in the realm of Patrick who has had a great season when allowed to pitch.

Hard to say its a down year in rookies with Kurtz out there, but in the NL it really should be Collins or Baldwin unless Patrick get some more innings.

Yes I hope the writers actually look at the overall usage of a player and not just go with I've heard of this guy logic.  Then I am hoping for those in the latter group, they will have some old man bitterness about Miz's All Star appearance and put him lower in the vote.

Totally agree - and the fact that the Brewers honestly could have 5 of their players get votes for NL ROY (Patrick, Henderson, Durbin, Collins, and Miz) while sporting the only record in MLB over a 0.600 winning percentage in early August is unreal.

Miz jumping into ROY contention almost instantly is mostly hype  but that also correlated to the Brewers getting in the middle of this incredible roll they're on as national media started paying attention.
